Re: Controller data logging and OSD
I am also thinking of adding a flash memory to allow the CAN adapter to log directly the data, as there are some software to generate the overlay after the download (but I am not sure if it will synchronize easilly, I never did it in that way)

Re: Controller data logging and OSD
Project update: the problem I found with this project is that the Torque App and the "CAN to ELM327" adapter seem not to cooperate well (or I was using too much channels), in addition despite Torque App is a great app (nice graphics, lots of features, etc) has some problems when using lots...

Re: Problem setting limits on Bac800.
You could check with Grin Tech and see if the Phaserunner software will talk to your BAC800. But even if it does, the controller hardware you have may not have the input you want, if it was ordered by the seller from ASI without that for whatever reason. Thanks for quick reply. I already contacted ...

Re: Problem setting limits on Bac800.
I also have a problem with BAC800 settings, I bought a BAC800 from Luna customized for Cyclone 3KW motor, but it comes without the brake potentiometer cable, and they say they cannot enable this function! (but they do not warn about this in their web page) How could I get a BacDoor SW (even an old v...

Re: Professional ESC base on VESC introduction
The spec increases seem too large to me for the skate industry to want to get involved, I think that size needs to be thought of here and most people will only need no more than 20s and 100amp battery, that would still be double the size of those existing units so in theory it would be better for a...

Re: Professional ESC base on VESC introduction
Trampa Boards has just released a VESC for 75V (66V real / safe) and 300A continuous. For me it is a little unbalanced as it would be better having more voltage and less current (for ebike application), although for some motorcycles with small motors maybe ok BTW: 100A battery is huge!, 100V? Is the...

Re: Professional ESC base on VESC introduction
Is there anyone, benjamin vedder or other company, developing a 100 v model? I am using 4.2 on ebike and it is superb, but I miss a 75 v PCB to operate my cyclone motor I'm working on a 12F VESC-compatible that can run up to 80V. It will use 100V mosfets, but the current sensors are limited to 80V....

Offtopic: Testing an ebike with Cyclone 3000W motor and VESC (50V, 60A limit) on dyno: comparison of FOC (2.2 KW / 3 HP) vs BLDC (1.7 KW / 2.3 HP). It seems like the battery current limit is applied to BLDC mode (flat section), but not to FOC mode (any ideas?) http://www.sportdevices.com/uploads/pic...

Re: Controller data logging and OSD
after too long waiting for PCBs we already have the definitive version, with DC/DC converter (24v to 5V) and two CAN inputs (same bus), one non-isolated for SEVCON/Curtis, and the other Isolated for BMS (sorry for the bad hand soldering, production parts will be done at oven) http://www.sportdevices...

Re: Motenergy ME1304 motor with SEVCON size 6 on Dyno
ME1304 has 8 magnets (4 poles). It's possible to try to rise up headroom factor to 95%. The field wekeneeng must begine to work when headroom factor reach up set value. You can get 10% plus power if you encrease headroom factor. ok, I'll try next Monday. Today I expent almost all day charging the b...

Can you make test of rated power of your motor? An example, can you rotate your motor about 15 minutes at half of maximum power? Wow, it is complicated. No enough battery and no coolling yet. At the moment it gets hot in seconds I will do a log when I test it in the kart. Mainly for temp What batte...

Re: Motenergy ME1304 motor with SEVCON size 6 on Dyno
As I understand sevcon's Ke use electrical radian per second speed vs usually uses mechanical angular velocity. Ke.JPG ah, ok. It makes sense if I do the calculation for W rad dividing by 2 (4 poles?) and Veff / 2, it shows about 0.031, but it is approximated when reviewing old logs the Ke changes ...

Re: Motenergy ME1304 motor with SEVCON size 6 on Dyno
66 mH vs 69.9 mH seems ok Ke=0.021 vs 0.029 has more discrepancy. I measured the Ke value with DVT (VCI 3, Tool 25.6, Tcl patch level: 8.5.18) how should I verify Ke? it is supposed to be the V RMS voltage / rad/s, isn't it? For instance (95V / 1,42) / 5000 RPM / (60 / 2 PI) ? (if 5000 RPM is reache...

Re: Motenergy ME1304 motor with SEVCON size 6 on Dyno
What coefficients do ME give? Ke was measured using the DVT tools I plan to use combined cooling water plus air. I have calculated heat dissipation and deside that additional air cooling can give for me minimum additional 6 kW of rated power (15 kW+6kW=21 kW minimum or more). Now I have no time tо c...

Re: Motenergy ME1304 motor with SEVCON size 6 on Dyno
yes, about 84%. It is likely the modulation index does not reach its maximum at max power value, then it continues increasing but torque decreases first quickly (I guess before F.W.) and then more slowly (I guess during Field Weakining) Parameters: http://www.sportdevices.com/uploads/pics/ME1304_par...

Re: Motenergy ME1304 motor with SEVCON size 6 on Dyno
indeed that makes me think that we could get a slower decay between 2500 and 4000 and this will provide more power (maybe 5 HP more) since the torque decay is SLOWER after 4000 RPM

Re: Motenergy ME1304 motor with SEVCON size 6 on Dyno
Update: we continued adjusting the P.I. and F.W. constants and got 37 HP at brake with battery just charged at 100V (approx 40 HP at motor)
I think this is very very close to maximum for this motor at 100V

Re: Motenergy ME1304 motor with SEVCON size 6 on Dyno
Yesterday I did several more tests with the 4S x 3P set (max 480 A DC @ 10C), but results were exactly the same. At the beginning I though the SEVCON was limiting the battery current to 285 - 300 A DC, then I increased the limit to 500 A, but no change at all. As you said in a previous post this mot...

Re: Motenergy ME1304 motor with SEVCON size 6 on Dyno
I am back again to the testing. After my friend luigidesign finished his tests in the dyno he has been adjusting my SEVCON for the ME1304 motor. Efficiency has been improved a lot at low torque areas. It reached about 86% at the brake (after the chain), and I estimated the losses of chain about 6%, ...
