Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Would this be helpful to anyone?? It is a diagram I got from Kelly Controllers (Fany) on how to connect the KLS series to a CA... https://imgur.com/0knizAM Keith Thanks Keith, it's already been posted. I think it came orginally from Kelly. It's interesting they didn't show wire #8, but maybe that's...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

It's a pity Kelly didn't add shunt out terminals. It says the controller montors phase, and battery current limits, so that must mean it has built in shunts.

(8) Meter: Copy signal of hall sensors. Dark Gray This is in the KLS owners PDF tha ABV1 posted (I knew I saw it in there somewhere, and wondered what the heck is that for)..... Maybe this is useful.
I have that, but I don't see mention of wire #8 anywhere. It's not on any of the diagrams. It only shows up in the picture of this plug.

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

If it's like various scooter controllers I've run across, the "meter" line outputs one of the motor phases as a speedometer input. What the electronics in the displays for that do, I can guess that they chop down the voltage and filter that potentially-battery-level signal into pulses for...

Does anyone have any idea what this wire does? It's not mentioned on any of the wiring diagrams.

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

I've been thinking about how to extend the phase wires 1abv. I'm leaning toward just soldering extra wire on, but having an extra xt150 doesn't seem too bad. Now that I have one, I go back and forth on the shunt. It kind of seems like it's not worth the trouble of stuffing it in there, for little be...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

I'm considering this shunt.

DC-Ammeter-Shunt-150-Amp-for-50-mV-Movement__S_1__32386.jpg (203 KiB) Viewed 368 times
And then we adjust the ca for, 50mV/150A = 0.33 mOhm

And then wala, the Kelly should work with a ca.

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

After getting the rim pretty close on the truing stand, I like to fine tune it on the bike. I guess it's about as close as it's going to get now. I'm waiting on a new rim strip, and then I'll mount a tire, and call it good. Then I guess it's time to remove the controller.

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

I've never had success using this spoke torque wrench before, but after getting frustrated using that little round spoke wrench I decided to give it another try, and it seems to be helping a lot this time. I got my truing stand set up in the living room so I can watch TV while I work on my wheel, wh...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

It only took me 3 trys, and about 3 youtube video refreashers to get this far. Almost no cussing. Make mental note, next time do all the inside spokes on both sides first, then the outside spokes last. I did remember not to cross the schrader valve hole like I did last time. Looks like I guessed pre...

Hi TV,
What exactly are those connectors you used for the phase wires..... I need some like that!!!

Thanks,
Keith
They're called XT150, supposedly good for 150 amps.

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Looking good man! Hey did you trim the phase wires or did they come that length? The motor cable was almost 4 feet long, so it needed to be trimmed. I cut the phase wires down to stock length, but I made the hall cable longer than stock to get it up to a place that's easy to deal with. I think I'm ...

I've made very little progress in the last week because I cought a cold, and didn't feel like doing much, but today I finally started feeling better. Big comfy seats are where it's at. This bike is owned by Phil Pozderac, former Dallas Cowboy. I ran into himon the trail one day. This seat isn't really that big on him, he's about 7 feet tall.

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Reason why I used external shunt is because the kelly I used was potted, so there were no way I could open it up. If you order unpotted one you can easily open it and solder on a connector for your old trusty CA using this guide: https://www.ebikeschool.com/add-cycle-analyst-connector-controller/ N...
