Re: Yamaha and Gogoro work on battery swapping

Pretty cool that they are teaming up, do wonder if other brands such as SYM, Kymco and Honda will partner as Kymco have their own battery swap format. Where I live not sure the swappable system makes sense unless they were rentals. I'm pretty much the only person running an electric scooter (a home ...

Re: Kelly KEB KEB72801 Problems

oh no..... yeah does say on software make sure motor is not running. I think if you have a sidestand cutout that eliminates any risk of throttle being not set right and motor turing over.

If the Red LED is constantly on, then probably dead sorry to say. :(

Re: New Kelly FOC controller series

Thanks guys, so that was my concern. Would the switch hold up over time and is there a safety risk. My electrician mate says go with the isolated type as the contactor won't draw that much to be concerned about. I guess as pointed out could use relays and switch the DC/DC convertor to then turn on t...

Re: New Kelly FOC controller series

What thoughts are there over why to choose the isolated and non isolated controllers. You can get a kls8080i http://kellycontroller.com/brushless-kls8080i-controllers-c-105_108.html or the kls8080h http://kellycontroller.com/brushless-kls-8080h-controllers-c-105_123.html The former uses 12V to be sw...

Re: Ebike scooter project QS 4kw V3 72v, Kelly KEB72601

Are you planning to have your CA have control over the KEB? I recently tried to do this with mine, but none of the wiring diagrams I saw seems to complete the wiring to make this happen. I gave up on it for now till I have time to relook at greater detail.

Re: QS MOTOR,0.5-14kW Electric Hub Motor Manufacture China

Here is a question I am asking to see if some of the regulars might be able to confirm. I've built a scooter using the 273 range of motor using a 13" rear hub motor and using a KEB72081 controller. One of the issues with the KEB controller and I believe the KLS7275D controllers is they limit the cur...

Re: 2015 Motorino XPn

Mistercrash, here is where we were able to fit that controller (just barely): http://i.imgur.com/deGSpEL.jpg The tech at QS Motors in China told me that I could run the 8kW motor at up to 120V safely. My mouth watered :D But then I realised my Kelly 96501 can't exceed 96V. I'm not amp- or torque-li...

Re: Ebike scooter project QS 4kw V3 72v, Kelly KEB72601

@scottydog Do you remember the size of each individual poach for the Chevy Volt battery? Are they smaller then the Nissan Leaf cells? Got any pics of your battery assembly or completed pack? I don't know the pouch sizes in particular, but I went with the Volt modules in the end as I got the feeling...

Re: Ebike scooter project QS 4kw V3 72v, Kelly KEB72601

Hey just noticed this build, really nice reading, will have to go over a few more times! I am using a KEB72801 currently myself with a 5kW QS motor. From what I have read you won't be able to program in wicked torque from a standstill on the KEB's, they have a soft ramp up. There was a fellow who ha...

Re: Supplimentary batteries for a ZEV scooter

Looks like mission impossible as it kinda looks like even with the 60Ah cells you would be pressed? I was using 20 x 60Ah GBS cells on my bike. I am sure there is a way to make the 24 x 60Ah fit your bike, might have to lose the helmet storage if there is any. I like the charge at work idea, though ...

Re: Custom Sport Scooter Project

With the old GBS cells removed was time to see how the new one would fit. I had built a stepped carbon base to make the GBS ones fit but as the new Volt battery is shorter this would not be needed. 23559405_10155849536817790_5816600642063222447_n.jpg The moment of truth! The Volt battery fits in jus...

Re: Custom Sport Scooter Project

I stripped down the bike and pulled out all the old GBS cells. I could see the bad one looking slightly puffy. It was kinda interesting to compare the old and the new as 3kWh for 3kWh. The difference in volume and weight being pretty apparent! The GBS in total were 100lbs, but as 3kWh would be 80lbs...

Re: Custom Sport Scooter Project

Project update! Around March this year one of the GBS cells started to go into a death spiral so decided to park the bike up until I could get back on it. I also had to wait because until recently we pay a 33% tax on batteries and as part of the local EV group we managed to get this reduced to 0%. O...

Justin, good news!

Hey scottydog, could send an updated email to info@ebikes.ca? I'm not sure which particular conversation this was but there could have been a few messages that got missed over the holidays. Anyways, the normal reason that we see this "power fault:restart" message at the end of charging is if there ...

Hey guys, So I bought a Cycle Satiator in November and has been such a cool charger so had been using it almost everyday with it permanently mounted on the electric scooter. Re: New Kelly FOC controller series
