Re: ASI Acclerated Systems controllers BAC2000 review

Does your bac2000 support bluetooth? Mine does...I honestly don't know if that matters.
My old controller doesn't support BLT.

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

So next question: Does anyone know the format of the serial signal from the controller? The controller is reading amps, volts and rpm and outputs it to the Bacdoor program. I can read the serial signal into an Arduino, but what will the format be? U want make a handhold debug terminal based on Ardu...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

1, Try bigger current Regulator bandwidth & PLL bandwidth;
2, Then try smaller Speed regulator Kp, such as 5, 4, 3;
3, Correctly set up Gear ratio & Wheel diameter;
U can link you notebook to your controller and try to repeat the No Power Output fault, to find out what happen.

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

16 times 5:1 gearing, recommended in Grin's table, pole pairs per wheel rotation. Try Pole pairs=16 & Gear rating=5. He did; that gives 80 pole pairs. ;) 80 pole pairs (16 pp times 5:1 gearing) I think this is a design-bug in upper computer software of phaserunner; For controller OS, it does not ca...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

Hi iser:
For both "SOC" and "voltage" parameters?
Yes, all these are key parameters for regen current. If your battery is near full charge and trigger the threshold of starting voltage or starting capacity, the regen current will decrease.

Do u have the datasheet or spec of your hubmotor?

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

When I was coasting down a long hill at speeds up to 65 kph my peak regen current at maximum commanded regen was 27.5 Amps. It was in improvement over the 15 Amps maximum I was seeing earlier. Is there another constraint I should relax to enable the full 33 Amps of regen, or do I just need to find ...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

Even though you have no advice specific to the ASI controller family, you've given me something to investigate. I will try increasing the current gain parameters and reduce the throttle motoring ramp rate to 0 or 1 ms (which is essentially zero--even 20ms suggests a reaction time shorter than the p...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

Did you go through the motor auto-tune process for each of the motors you tried? Yes, i run this program 2 or 3 times to get a stable parameters. Do you have any backlash or "springiness" in your drivetrain between the motor and the road? No, only resonance i can feel in low speed range. Are you us...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

Hi Justin,
Does it works if enable bit 0(Set bit 0 as 1) for mid-motor?
I tried it and then the mid-motor can't spin, if disable it(Set bit 0 as 0) the mid-motor will spin normally.
For hubmotor, this function works.

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

Perhaps iser can followup with a more detailed description of the problem. If the objective is to tune out backlash, then, yes, you wouldn't want to use regen at all, esp. if there are slack-side pulleys and/or tensioners. But, I was thinking that iser's problem was related to the resonance Justin ...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

for the record, the chain drive in my scooter had a TON of backlash and I could tune it out. the #1 thing to do was to set the regen to "off"..... that way the motor only pulled it forward, it never tried to regen off the chain. (my chain tensioner wouldnt allow it.) I almost disable all function o...

We support both to let your motor reach square-wave top speed even though not activate weakening field function, SSV technology will help you get back your lost 10% top speed.
