Re: Whatever happened to Lyen?

My first controller was a Lyen 18fet with a Cycle Analyst from Justin. I liked it because I could program in the LVC. I still have it. I was thinking yesterday I should get it out again. I am using a cheap Sunwin controller currently. I have 2 or 3 Sunwins, they are trapzoidal too. My next cont will...

Re: Who here on E.S. uses an ignition key?

My disc lock has a key. I find it’s enough. My controllers switchin circuits are wired to a toggle switch on the handlebar. Got to leave a chance to a thief, to experiment either a back flip or a face plant. Yup I need one of those disc brakes, electronically wired though. Usually I just ...

Who here on E.S. uses an ignition key?

I used to just wire the two wires together, now my voltage, half throttle ignition device was laying around and I figured I'd hack it up for the ignition as I only use thumb throttle which I bought from Greentime and I love it. My last throttle had the thumb part of the throttle rotate on the inside...

I just bought some scrap 1/4" steel that I angle grinder'ed a notch and drilled some threaded holes on the rear dropout. Its quite ugly but my whole bike is a mish mash.

Re: Standard formula for Calculating Ebike Range

I always get asked about "How far can you go on that thing" Then I say things like... "Well the battery determines that, think of the battery as the fuel tank" "Depends on how hilly it is, how fast you are going, your total weight including cargo" "My battery can go 25km" Then they ask how fast can ...

Re: Stongest tandem ebike wheel build help

danscomp has spokes online, but they got more in stock if you call them. Plus I just learned that they ship internationally, so thats good for Canadians. Chalo recommended them if I am not mistaken. Also of note: Niagara has spokes from 182mm on up, and yes you have to go through each page. Chain Re...

Re: Battery series wiring

Best not to have voltages at that level, 4.10V for very long, overnight is fine but not days, weeks, months. I usually charge to 3.8V and let sit for a month or two. As for more series connection, you want everything to be as even as possible, the three I painted (neon green) on your picture should ...

Re: Stongest tandem ebike wheel build help

I called around to custom motorcycle builders and they had no clue where to get spokes custom cut and reamed. I also went to motorcycle dealers and the parts guys had no clue. Motorcycle rims have larger nipple holes so if you go to a 13 guage then the nipples would be too small, a way around it is ...

So they moved the suspension down from where it would normally go just to mount a rigid rack. https://testimonialcollecter.com/btp-photos/uploads/2014/10/Riese-And-Muller-Delite-Traveller.jpg I would say there are many better choices out there for you to choose from. Did you measure IR or did you let them sit for a long while to see how each one lost voltage then put the closest ones together.

Its a "Mobility" scooter, go to Staples and print out a sticker and your golden! The same as a the old people use that have a hard time walking. I even saw a folding trike while I was charging up at Safeway last summer. No one is gunna mess with a person who has Mobility issues, no judge, no pig, no...

Re: Battery series wiring

Something like this picture, but make sure every light blue wire is the same length. Solder on one side, then go to the other so that area can cool down a bit. But I guess it really dont matter now that I think of it, because you already soldered directly onto the battery can anyway. Be easier to do...

Ombudsman https://www.ombudsman.ab.ca/ is what I used once for a slight problem I had. Went for an interview but I never followed through too much hassle for what little money was involved. But they are the ones to talk to because they get to the bottom of the problem. Every province has one, I thin...

Before you take this guy's advice, realize he doesn't seem to know what a positive and negative ends of the cells look like and also has labeled the + and - incorrectly. Re: Battery series wiring

You need a Digital Multi-Meter to see which is (+) Positive and which is (-) Negative, then you need to flip flop them. So in the picture, if the 9 parallel strings are all with their (+) up, then you need to flip every second one so that each parallel strings goes like this, + then - then + then - ...
