Re: Keirin racing - now I've seen everything

Aero anyone?

Keirin racing needs a good sponsor like Sur-Ron, or major brand ebike (example: Specialized)
or maybe a not so good sponsor depending on how you look at it, Sondors.

Do you think many people watching Keirin racing would be swayed or moved by a product placement of an ebike?

https://ebikes.ca/shop/electric-bicycle-parts/batteries.html Top notch quality, I purchased their 52V battery last year. I was in a rush in my last post so I didnt really have a good look around. https://www.daburn.com/CRTHighVoltageCoronaResistantPTFEWire.aspx Chart gives you OD, and says Small Size: You do not need bulky, thick insulation jacketing as used with silicone rubber and polyethylene insulation to get your...

Re: Confusion about which controller to buy for Voilamart 1000w hub motor

52V 35A (1800W) is fine for a front hub as I've had it on several builds though I ride on a rigid fork and I'd recommend using a steel. Not sure what the costco fat bike had alum or steel, the current bike I should check and see. 2 torque arms, and regen/ebrake seems to loosen my bolts. Its been a d...

Re: upgrading phase wires gone wrong

You could look into motor winding wire, not sure if anyone has done that and then heat shrink the wire where it goes through the axle but I havent read anyone doing that and its maybe because its just to easy to nick the coating on the wire. Found this but smallest is 16 awg https://www.alphawire.co...

Re: upgrading phase wires gone wrong

You need to go really big wires from axle exit to controller, the bigger the wires the better from the axle exit. Othewise you need to find some thin insulation wire to fit inside the axle, I tried ptfe teflon wire and it worked well.

If you can pay on paypal it will be much better, but if its to good to be true, its probably a scam.

Also if you check to see what their shipping price is, sometimes they will jack it real high to compensate for the low low product price.

L-Brake is not strong with the Wuxing power cutoff levers Connect the L-Brake wires one way to the the wires of Wuxing and it acts a certain way, pulsating ebraking. The other way the L-Brake isnt strong like it was with the toggle switch I had. I dont know if the Wuxing has a fancy component inside...

I would like an on/off switch on my Cycle Satiator, I can deal with the bubble on the screen. I just unplug the Satiator because I dont want the screen to burn in, yes the text does move around so good call on that. :thumb: Not sure if this is the right thing to do but after the charge on my battery...

Just saying for anyone else out there reading this, thats one of the positives about direct drives because the more weight the motors pulling more mass and momentum the more brake pads you go through and having regen braking on the fancy controllers or ebrake on the generic controllers is a real bon...

Re: Disc brake conversion

Look into regen braking/ebrakes as it will save a lot on pads.
At 325lbs I could go down any steep hill using zero bike brakes.

203 discs up front help out as thats where the majority of the stopping power comes from but people also like to lockup the rear.

You can buy cylindrical cans with posts for easy assembly. Headway had them but those were bulky and heavy. You can buy cylindrical cans with tabs already spot welded on them, NKON where you can easily solder wire with drastically reduced heat thennon spot welded cans. Lots of people buy tool batter...

Had to take some air out and the f'ing slime gunked up the valve a bit.
Had another tube with same f'ing slime in it for puncture protection and got a rip, f'ing slime got everywhere.

Fixing up the ole ebike

So after a second of testing out the cuttoff levers I realized I didnt have my torque arm on Saw and felt the axle rotate. Brought it back, took a look, dropout separated a bit. But I caught it in time. So had to cut off the slot in the old steel plate and make me a snugger fit t.a. New ones ALL fit...

Hey, you need a fan, any fan to blow the smoke away from you. A 12V computer fan on a square 9V battery works fine. Big ole rocker switch worked well for a week, I half ass soldered the wire to the terminals and it was solid, its just the metal tabs of switch came loose, maybe I put to much heat to the tabs. My bad, I've been calling it a rocker switch when its a toggle. https://www.be-electronics.com/product_p/4...

Re: 200mm I.S. Adapter on a 203mm rotor?

No worries in that department, I hooked up the L-Brake electric brake and it works wonders and will save lots of money on brake pads. Though I found some cheap Avid BB7 pads and bought a couple of various materials to test out. I just wish I hooked up L-Brake years ago, would have saved a rim or two...
