Re: Normal non cc/cv PSU with a normal cc/cv charger to increase volts and still get cc/cv charge to battery

Hey thanks fechter for your input. I am just using the laptop charger by themselves in a split pack battery pack. Battery pack when connected to ebike is 10S10P, when I charge I split the pack into 5S10P suitable for the laptop chargers voltage of 19.50 or close to it. Not the ideal 21V for 5S (x2 s...

Re: Normal non cc/cv PSU with a normal cc/cv charger to increase volts and still get cc/cv charge to battery

Intersting Note

I used the good laptop charger to charge half my pack to 19.42 that is my battery pack right now.
The "bad" laptop charger reads 19.72V
DMM reads 19.50V with batt plugged into charger and slowly increasing, normal.
Unplug charger, dmm on charger stays at 19.72V and does not decrease.

Re: Normal non cc/cv PSU with a normal cc/cv charger to increase volts and still get cc/cv charge to battery

I bought four Dell laptop psu's 19.50V 6.7A They are all the same, Model DA130PE1-00 The first one I opened up and put back together, and its working fine. The second I thought I messed it up by touching the two outputs of the charger and it just would not charge. I opened it up and began searching,...

Nothing is free in the frozen north, all we got is mastercrap and powerfisted if you know what I mean. Blew through a few fuses, CT's MCrap changed the fuse sizes and no longer sells the old fuses. No big deal, B&E sells a few ceramics and lots of glass for 10's of cents, I notice the Fluke's fuses ...

Re: Sparks flying: are my battery or charger damaged? Please help

I plugged my battery into my charger the wrong way, sure it sparks as it normally would when you touch both battery leads together. I thought I killed my cheap generic controller. Have to stick with using red and black wire from now on  As for plugging in the battery the wrong way to a charger...

Re: Best battery Deals on 11 11 Chinese sale!?

I just bought a cpl hun 25R from nkon to ship to Canada, they say 3 weeks and most get 3 to 4 weeks.
The 25R seemed to be a good price in comparison to the ~3Ah 18650's.

Next step is to hook up them heating pads and insert temp sensors inside the pack. I was thinking Ardruino or a clone. Dell DA130PE1-00 is 19.5V and 6.7A C$20 each Reads right on open voltage and does not go higher. Last night I hooked up to battery, its only pumping 880mA at 18.25V That led me way off on a hunting expedition/tangent but its not the onewire protocol at all, its just the cccv process because the batt...

Re: Best place for replacement computer battery ?

Be careful, some of the batteries communicate with the laptop through onewire protocol, not an issue for using charger to charge any ole battery. I guess that central pin is easily damaged and shorts out, maybe some of the generic batteries would not take that 3rd wire into account. I just finished ...

Right now I am using two rc chargers that are both 6S and both can do 5A, not bad. This method aint for balancing no 10S8P pack, just bulk. For balance, just use a quality BMS and put in bulk charge to the BMS. I often ponder buying a lot of chargers that I could charge each parallel string. Cell ph...
