Re: Perth bike path speed bump trial set to force speeding cyclists to slow down

Calgary has bike speed bumps on a pathway along the Bow River at the dog park, end of Southland Trail. Never slowed me down with my front suspension and hard tail. Usually go 50kph along there. With a full suspension bike, speed bumps dont do anything. The speed bumps are the wider ones, say 3.5' wi...

Zip Tie Failure

I've boughten a lot of zip ties to secure battery to the top of my rear rack. They keep breaking! I've purchased department store ones which are useless (Canadian Tire, Rona, Lowes, HD, Harbor King/Princess Auto) Zip ties. Even the thicker zip ties break, I purchased 36" long x 1/2-3/4" wide from PA...

Build your own steel rear rack. Hunt behind stores for free steel.

Re: 6 or 7 or 8 gear, maximun

Ok ok I was a bit dramatic there I actually do pedal when I run outta juice, helping it up a hill or just starting out. I also do a lot of fake pedaling TBH. Mainly when I see a tree hugger type or granolas on the pathways, or some children, couples with pets, old people, the fuzz, park ranger, give...

Re: LiPO and cold winter temp

This was a great read on temprature and batteries. I left my ebike outside this past winter and it was cold out, it must've been -15C or more! I remember the chill well now, yeah -20C and the wind had a bite to it. Lithium Ion is what I used. I just gotta have it setup so I can take the battery with...

Markz Ride in our city a lot during winter. Since I switched to studed tires 2 winters ago I feel much much safer. Do you ride on just regular MTB tires? Yeah I bought some used studded's from that used bicycle store Goodlife by Chinook, which didnt do much. New ones would do the trick! but I dont ...

I haven't figured out yet if riding an e-bike is dangerous or if just riding a bike all the time is dangerous. Riding all the time the odds are greater something will happen. Door opens, someone cuts you off, unseen pothole. Sorry for your bad experience, 2nd this winter I recall ? Sidewalks are of...

I've been doing fine this winter with just a front V-brake but my latest fall was in the evening, was dark out around 7pm and I was riding on the boulevard sidewalk coming up to a side street. There was no new snow, but the patch of ice blended into the sidewalk about 4-5' from the curb ramp in whic...

Whos to really tell the difference between the two, no public Joe will know if one is sensored or the other one is throttle. Anyone can hide the rear hub motor behind some lycra pannier bags, battery inside bag and say a small compact Grin Tech controller. If you were to use a big ass controller, th...
