Re: Where are the hq geared hub motors?

If I were to buy a geared motor, the MAC is the one I'd buy but I do love the d.d. MXUS. Still going strong. Had to replace one bearing and hall sensors a few times because of my fault. For a new motor/design perhaps we get a petition together and send it to 2 producers. Another option is to build o...

Re: Purpose of the white stripe on Schwalbe tires?

Chalo is right, the white stripe is on the last column/row of knobs. There there is a greyish stripe that is reflective that is on the sidewall. Cosmetic feature makes sense, like white wall automobile tires. The one in the picture doesn't look like a reflective stripe. It's partway into the knobby ...

Re: E-bike Powered by Tool Batteries?

e-bike powered with batteries from any of the battery powered tools (e.g. Greenworks, Ego, Ryobi, etc). My first purchase was lipo from Hobbyking, but now I am using Makita tool pack batteries. Actually just today I made a 10S16P pack and tried to slide it in the triangle and it did not fit. They a...

Re: Volkswagen says last generation of combustion engines to be launched in 2026

Walk down any auto parts aisle and imagine all the little bits and pieces and larger stuff required to make any engine. Then imagine all the things that can go wrong. Imagine all the maintenance, oil changes, spark plugs that goes into that engine. Then look at a simple electric vehicle, forklift mo...

Re: Notes on my first build, rear belt drive

I wonder if a child's bicycle rim could be used in place of the 3D printed pulley? Possibly with some cogs bolted through the spoke holes to engage the belt. I believe that is normally how its done. I never paid much attention to it, I would guess its attached through the sidewall of the rim so the...

Laptop Charger Update

Been using the 3 wire Dell laptop charger for a month or so, its the 130W 19.50V 6.7A and its real sensitive. I've had to play games with it to trick it into charging using a resistive element. Normally it will shut down if its not controlled when its plugged in and sometimes it needs to have resist...

Re: Need a plastic case for battery pack

I have been pondering what to do with my new 18650-25R's there are lots of cases for $30usd but I suck at searches so haven't been able to find any dolphins besides BMS Battery. I was thinking that aluminum sheet would be better, then adding a heavy plastic paint or coating of some kind. I really wa...

Re: Milwaukee battery out of balance

That is what the LiPo people do to rebalance them in a timely manner if they are too out of balance.
They take 2 pins and insert into the balance leads of LiPo pack to charge or discharge until equal.

well, looks like nkon is shipping to the US again, 30 euro shipping through Fedex. I need about 60, which works out to around 4.75 a cell shipped.
FedEx will charge you money when they deliver it.

Re: Computer PC fans label states 12V 600mA good for 19.50V?

Drained the 2S2P 3Ah too quickly so used used a fully charged Delwalt 14.4V for a few hours and the fan survived. I thought the bearings would go. Measurements 19.50V it was getting 360mA with battery not plugged in for charging. Used my only low resistance of cut up heating element for inrush limit...

Computer PC fans label states 12V 600mA good for 19.50V?

I got the 3-1/2" x 3-3/4" pc fan cooling the ebay dcdc, its a tad noisy.

How long do you think it will last at 19.50?

Re: About to order from NKON.nl - What to expect?

It was really a coin toss for me, my thinking was I wanted a pack that was small but could handle the throttle. The 10A of PF would have required too many in parallel compared to the 25A discharge of 25R. I had some batteries from them 25R and NCR18650PF, the panasonic ones are not good! Seems from ...

Re: 48V MOTOR KITS MAX VOLTAGES

21V for each is the maximum charge. If you had 4, it would be better to put the other 2 in parallel. It doesn't matter as far as distance goes if you put 4 in series, or ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Just your speed varies, and your controller internals would have 63V capacitors. Grab one more t...

or 2) a dimple and something behind it to keep it from crushing?

I ran into this thread a few days ago, but decided since its 2am MST and my battery is fully charged to 41.00V that...

Go to Home Depot and buy some PVC pipe and see how much the Heat Guns are, if they are not on sale then go to the Thrift Store and buy an iron.
