Re: new eZip motor

he could build a 6 minute charger and just plan out his trip to guerilla charge. 6 mins in a MacDonalds or <choose your favourite burger joint> probably won't even be asked to leave. That statement is nothing short of genius. I could ride my e bike all the way back to NY if the weather allowed. How...

Re: new eZip motor

OK. I do not have enough cables to make a 10P pack by combining the SONA packs and the Samsung packs at this time. Also I am breaking down all the packs to 2P and testing them with the voltage meter to see if each pack is in about the same voltage. They were all charged a few days ago so am curious ...

Re: new eZip motor

OK. 36V 16Ah battery: 500 x 20 mile cycles = 1000 miles SONA packs are 8 AH and and Samsung packs 12 both are at or over 1,000 miles. I do a lot of 10 mph to 15 mph cruising. I did a lot of 20 mph cruising when in Canfield motel as bike trail and open country road but only 5 to 10 mph in city. I tho...

Re: new eZip motor

I was told earlier on that different capacity packs at different stages of life are not to be hooked together. The SONA packs are 10S - 4P and purchased about 6 or 8 months prior to the 10S - 6P Samsung packs. All the packs are about 3 years old I believe and are probably nearing the end of life so ...

Re: new eZip motor

As the Hub Motor turns and the LiPo Fire Burns. E bike batteries. I spent way too much money at Wall Mart tonight. It was stuff I needed though. Like a blanket to keep warm and an air fryer and a wok to eat healthy. I bought a small fold up table so don't have to keep spilling beer and the wife coff...

Re: new eZip motor

That is awesome. I googled how long a 100 Ah SLA will power a 300 watt heater and came up with only 3 hours. It would take 4 to go 12 hours and with the limited life span of SLA and the expense of quality 18650 cells I realize that I need to wait 5 to 10 years for better battery technology. I was th...

Re: new eZip motor

As the Hub Motor Turns and the LiPo Fire Burns. This entire thread has been an unending saga of you determining what you "need", wasting your very limited funds on the wrong parts, than spending much time and effort kluging something together that is barely functional. When, almost every time, all t...

Re: new eZip motor

Nothing but is 168.25 mm. If I get a 160 mm It should work. I located one at a bike shop for 20 bucks. I just need to go there tomorrow and pick it up.

Thanks.

Re: new eZip motor

Maybe I'm missing something, but I see no need to rebuild the wheel. The problem is that his disc rotor interferes with his calipers. The problem is rotor size, not wheel size. That is correct. I just called a bike shop that has 160 mm rotors in stock for 20 bucks. I just need to bring my 168.25 mm...

Re: new eZip motor

As the Hub Motor Turns and the LiPo Fire Burns. I have not been riding my e bike lately as I have no rear brake as I removed the rotar as it was too large in diameter for the axle to fit all the way in to the drop outs. When I changed the rear tire and tube a month ago the wheel fell off upon take o...

Thank you. That makes sense. My savings for a car is not going well. Lucky if there is 100 left towards it by the time the 3rd of September rolls around. Re: new eZip motor

As the hub motor stops turning and the Lipo Fire stops burning. E bikes are cool. But the fact is they are not practical. They are a calamity in the rain or snow. Most do not carry a second passenger. They do not have a heater in the winter or AC in the summer. They are severely limited by battery t...

I did not think it was a good idea to sue the city less than a week being here. The cops would all hate me and give me a hard time. Yea. I was going to order two of those packs but realize that on top of the 850 for rent and security to get in the trailer there is a deposit for gas and electric. They are two separate companies. I also will need to pay another months storage in NY. I wont have 300 bucks to haul all that stuff her...
