Re: new eZip motor

Thank you DA. I am about to start soldering the motor and battery wires here. I was listening to Trump on the news and am find it very hard to believe that he is serious. Even more embarassed to vote for someone who is that dumb.  I know I proclaimed myself to be a genious but am defina...

Re: new eZip motor

I do not have punch but several times noticed that making a hole larger with a larger bit is much easier than drilling same size hole with one bit. A 3/8" bit is perfect for first hole then the 1/4 or 5/8 will need much less energey and wear and tear for finishing the job. Limit 3/8" bit speed to 10...

Re: new eZip motor

ok . it is optical illusion. I was wondering why the front basket looks so much bigger than the rear. Basically when I dismount a bike I like to swing my leg over the rear of the bike and with a small basket or no basket like the Currie it is easier. There is only about an inch difference in with bu...

As the Hub Motor Turns and the LiPo Fire Burns. The art of drilling. When I started drilling thru flat steel bar at least a year ago mabye two I noticed that a drill bit would last for mabye 3 or 4 holes and it was shot. I was drilling too fast and not using enough oil. Today I drill slower about ha...

Re: new eZip motor

Be careful, that won't hold. If it does not for long!! I only see 1 chain. No pedaling again? I sure hope you read/saw my PM. Dan The deraiuler needed to be unhooked as it effected the dropouts so the wheel would not go all the way to the bottom of the dropout and there was a little space on the op...

As the Hub Motor Turns and the LiPo Fire Burns. No pain no gain. 8) I walked 4.4 miles round trip to the Home depot. Re: new eZip motor

Already explained to you how "legal-illegal" eBikes are in NY! 18650 and 26650 are the size of cells, size has nothing to do with charge voltage! Chemistry is another matter, irregardless of size ... Could be 3.6V or 4.2V or 4.35V etc. Yes I know you did explain the legal , illegeal thing last year...

Re: new eZip motor

You could use a boost converter like I'm using, but frankly I think it would be simpler, cheaper, and overall better for you to just get a 36 volt controller. You won't have as much top end speed, but the system will be simple, more efficient, and easier to get configured. I'm betting that your mil...

Re: new eZip motor

I'm not sure what I just watched. Were you running the SLAs or the Sonas? The beginning of the video shows 3- SLAs in series. Same motor and controller I am using for the 24" cargo bike. Only difference is the 800 watt 20" hub motor is on the back of a 24" bike with a 24" wheel and brakes on the fr...

As the Hub Motor Turns and the LiPo Fire Burns. LVC garbage. F- LVC The 800 watt hub motor wont work with the SONA packs. It worked fine with the old SLAs I threw out. Must be a volt or two difference. Either that or the Hub motor is shot. I wanted to use it for the downtown trip in the snow but had...

LC, you know the Multistars are only 4s. As for the other ones I don't know either. You didn't know about the sona packs and you ordered them. The specs are good but that doesn't mean they are real specs. No name cells is the major drawback. As for the motor, buy the 1500 hub motor. Dan Thanks as I...

I do not know why it has so many wires unless the controller is inside the motor. makes no sense. Motor kits with similr motors have those wires too with controller. Any motor should be only two wires. It looks like a scam of somekind. I can't order that. I was born in 1965 not yesterday. Thanks. Lc...

Re: new eZip motor

As said earlier, you are over geared and over weight. You should be getting at least 1 mile an 1AH. Since the AH capacity is low that will also cause more strain on the batteries. I just hope you realize that we are not trying to burn you down, Dan Overweight yes, overgeared no. The Currie is geare...

Re: new eZip motor

Chain must not be tight but just a little slack in order to be efficient at all, with those big sprockets you are running. The Currie uses a gear reduction motor. Rpm is 480 at 750 watts @ 36 volts. Freewheel sprocket is a 20 tooth I think. The chain does have some slack but not too much where I ha...
