Electric tractor motors

I have some property in the high plains desert. I would really benefit from having a motorized 4 wheel platform that would let me carry up to 4,000 pounds (500 gallons of water). It does not need to go more than 5 mph, and does not need to climb more than 20 degrees. Tires will be about 24" in ...

18650 vs prismatic - which is safer?

Are the 18650 cell packs safer than prismatic? Last night, my scooter caught on fire while it was being charged. Fire burned...all that was left was the steel in the frame and the hubs. I had a new battery that was prismatic instead of 18650 :(

Limit on battery size?

I think I am getting the run around with my local escooter shop. I have an electric scooter (the old fashion style that you sit on and has handlebars). It has a 48v mother with a 15a life battery. I want to put a 40a 48v battery in the scooter and change the controller as well. The guy that owns the...

Re: Intricancies of 2+ motors

Thank you! Sorry for the mistake. I meant, eliminate the drive shaft. Yes, I am still looking at a differential for each pair of wheels, with one motor attached to each differential. I have read on other forums that 2 controllers in the same vehicle need some way to be managed together, perhaps some...

Plans for a diy controller

I have a 48 volt, 500 w ebike. The motor is capable of handling 60v - probably more efficiently. I was thinking that if there are any diy kits - or well documented plans, I would like to try to build a controller. I have not done anything like this in 30 years. Do things still need tubes? hehehehe j...

Intricancies of 2+ motors

I have read a number of posts here about 2 motors on a 2 wheeled vehicle. My questions here are about a 4 wheeled vehicle. The Tesla pick-up has something like 3 motors up front and 4 in the back, give or take. I would like to convert a small 4x4 vehicle like a Suzuki Tracker. If I could put one mot...

18" wheel on a scooter?

I am looking at a scooter with 18" wheels. Most of that kind have 16" wheels. A lot of companies make 16" wheels with the motor rigidly mounted in the center of the wheel. The selection for 18" is not nearly as big. Can an 18" wheel be made electric using spokes with the mot...

Re: A help me upgrade my scooter

Thanks. Good suggestions. Another MUST: the batteries will go. Some shops will let me order the scooter without a battery. I would not trust the motor with a controller that would throw more electricity at it.

A help me upgrade my scooter

48V350W-EEC-Approved-Fashion-Adult-Electric-Pedal-Scooter-2-Wheel-Electric-Bike-ES-022-.jpg This is the smallest scooter that is comfortable for me. Arthritus in the hip ruled out pedaling a long time ago. 350 Watts at 48 volts just doesn't cut it. Larger scooters with more power are available but ...

E-scooter for cross country

I have fought with my hip for more than 15 years and finally given up...bicycling will have to wait until I get a new hip :( I live in Beijing and will be moving to Chengdu this summer. The road trip is about 1,200 miles. I am entertaining the notion of riding a scooter there. There are 5 cities tha...

Re: 4 wheel drive ATV as utility vehicle

Thank you for the advice. I will probably take all of it at one time or another  I will start with an ATV because it will help me get started - it will fit into my van - no trailer needed, and will work as a multifunction vehicle to get plans made, soil samples taken, snow cleared until pat...

https://daymak.com/offroad/beast-awd-atv.html Great ad - thank you! I like the sounds of that - 2 x 1,000 watt motors - redundancy is always good when you are off the beaten path. 4 wheel drive ATV as utility vehicle

atv.jpg Just to be clear, I am talking about this kind of atv - some people call it a quad cycle. I am looking for an electric powered vehicle like this to help survey and develop a piece of land that I bought. It does not have to be fast - 15 mph is adequate because it will seldom be on pavement (...

Re: How stable will this escooter be?

Hmmmm most ebikes and scooters here have 10-12" wheels. I think mine has 16", but not much improvement. That is one of the main reasons why I am thinking about a third wheel.

I tried to search this forum for electric bus, but the term "bus" is used in many aspects of electric vehicles. I am shopping for a used school bus now to convert into an RV. As I was trying to work around the space that the engine and drive train take up in these I thought, "if this ...

https://item.jd.com/36211367093.html#crumb-wrap Excuse the Chinese - my question probably doesn't need an understanding of the words but a look at the wiring on the motor. I am thinking about buying this motor for my 16" wheeled scooter, getting the 48v 1000w version. It seems to have 3 control...

48v 350w to 48v 1000w

I would like to upgrade my ebike to a more powerful motor, yet stay at 48v. I am going to upgrade the controller...is there somet...

Re: Are two batteries better than one?

Thank you! That is very helpful. It looks like, if I am going to do this, most likely will have to do it myself. Even though I am a novice, I don't think I would trust the shops around here to be so conscientious building a battery like that.
