Re: What gauge wire to use for 45+A through Y connector?

Informative replies by all--thank you. The 12 gauge that I have is the gasoline resistant (i.e. non silicone) kind. Before I put flexible wiring conduit over it, I did feel the wire and it never even got warm after a flat, medium power 10 mile ride. I think I will get some 10 gauge silicone and use ...

Re: What gauge wire to use for 45+A through Y connector?

12AWG silicone should be fine for 45A, but in practice you want larger cables closer to the controller... so if your batteries have 8 gauge, making the Y out of 8 couldn't hurt. Connectors are usually the weak point. What type do you use? The connectors on my Y connector are Anderson PowerPole SB50...

What gauge wire to use for 45+A through Y connector?

I have a system as follows: 72V battery with output never over 45.9A (the max current in the CA is limited to 30A, but I may turn it up to 35A later) 72V, 4110 controller Cromotor V4 I have a Y connector (the 72V battery is two 36V packs, 20 cells total) which is made of 12 gauge wire, but the phase...

Congratulations on the new family member. Teddy is a lucky dog. I'm sure it will work out.

Re: Tiny's Wheelchair Project

Just my two cents, but I think that it would be a good thing for you, Yogi and the new dog if you got a new dog.

Re: Tiny's Wheelchair Project

If you get another St. Bernard you should get a collar for it with a small wooden barrel filled with booze.

Re: How to change Cycle Analyst display from W to kW?

When I changed the display mode from low (as in bicycle, in W) to high (as in motorcycle, in kW), I did not realize that this change resets the max current setting to the default 250A. I had my current limited to 25A, and the first time I rode the bike since changing the mode from low to high, the m...

Re: Tiny's Wheelchair Project

I am truly sorry for your loss. You made a tremendous effort to give Tiny the best life that she could have. I hope that you can find peace and enjoy Yogi and any new dogs that you will probably get one day.

Tiny was very blessed to have such a dear friend. God bless you.

For the spare set,

Red wire = -

Orange wire = +

For the other 3 wires follow this procedure :

Re: How to change Cycle Analyst display from W to kW?

I figured it out. When you are in a field in the Preferences, you hold down the left key for awhile and that opens up a deeper submenu.

Re: How to change Cycle Analyst display from W to kW?

The pdf manual says that I should select "high range mode" in the Advanced Setup Menu. I am not figuring out how to find the 'advanced' message that shows up at the end of the regular setup menu. Maybe I should have titled this thread "How do I access the Advanced Setup Menu in a CA?". The message '...

How to change Cycle Analyst display from W to kW?

I want my Grin Tech Cycle Analyst to display kW rather than W.
Can this be done in the Setup Preferences? If so, how?
