Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Out today, cracking weather here in Melbourne.
Looks like stage 4 corona restrictions so not more than 5kms from home will kick in this week. Hence gave it a good workout today 85km ride

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

So can I upgrade the battery and that's it? Do I need a new controller? I don't know where to start. To summarize, I want more low end power, would be ok sacrificing top end speed, want to go farther on a charge and want it to not shit the bed. Fast, Cheap, Reliable... I know I only get two so I'll...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

I think my magnets are going to come off soon. I think I'll try to get an H55100. Am I looking for an H55 with 137mm dropouts or 162mm? My bomber dropouts are 162mm but will the 162mm fit? I need the 137, right? The current spec bomber is a UFO 5565 and good for about 85km/hr on the flat with 22S, ...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Had these motorcycle tubes recommended, they fit in the crazy bobs well.
The super heavy duty tube I was running was a little small for the tyre and I copped a snake bite flat.
Anyhow with 80km rides common for me I have everything on board to swap for a normal tube for the trip home.
From Theo! My 24 ah pack is about the same as the 35, but the stock 18 ah used to get pretty warm. More than either on my 18650 packs. That makes sense to me, it's the smallest capacity pack, so it works the hardest.
TV Apologies I'm a couple of months late here..... I've now done ...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

How many in series? Read the thread 100V 100A crystalyte I run 22s and regen won’t run at much above 82V You can do a board level mod with a resistor and not have to change programming Unless you live on the top of a mountain can I see you being able to overcharge a pack. First time you hit the thro...
I really only want about fifty cells, as I was hoping to get another year or two out of my relatively recently purchased battery, with a bit of cell replacement. There seems to be a few parallel packs that aren't keeping up. I'm not confident the BMS isn't the cause. Cheers, Clinton [/quote...

it IS exactly 10kph when you switch from 14/100 to 12/100 @CD, I see Merlin answered the reason why for my questions to you. I guy my size would gladly sacrifice a 6MPH in top speed to get faster acceleration and hill climbing improvement. Seems true as the Crystalyte UFO 5565 is MUCH more punchy o...

18650's for the win IMHO. so choices there are High capacity 3400-3500mAh cells LGMJ1 . / Panasonic GA / samsung 35E Sony VC7- although they are now quoting ~10A continuous discharge i have found this to be a stretch of the truth which is at 6-7A over the course of a discharge cycle the temp goes up...

Well.... Although I cant afford a fox 40..... I recently upgraded from the RST R-ONE to whats now the stock fit DNM-USD-8. i find the bike tramlines more with the USD ie feels tougher to make the bike change direction and i'm struggling to want a line and get it (on the road), I'm trying not to over...

Doc I have my 5403 apart, obviously its 10 years old and needed a birthday, phase wires fubar so new harness and cleaned up the housings. Should I paint the magnets too? Some very minor marks from corrosion and basic corrosion on the stator (are they 0.35mm lams all the way back then? they look thin...

Pretty excited actually unlaced the old motor last night, tempted to put holes in it, sand it back repowdercoat or better yet the satin/ gritty finish that’s on the UFO

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Thanks Rix, 23 for the pole count looks good for the Crystalyte UFO 5565 and lines up with GPS speed on the iphone. done 55kms and used 25 out of ~32Ah available mix of cruising and belting it. Not sure why anyone would ever want a 5580 or 55100 motor, the 5565 taps out at about 90km/hr on 22S and i...

Try 23 and see if that brings your settings into check. I know the old 54xx motors were 12pole. Roger that thanks Rix, headed over to the parents to collect = ~2hr train ride and 20min walk to the station this end and 5mins the other end for a 30min ride home  on another note, you had torque p...

Anyone know the pole count for the UFO? CA says I tapped out at 231km/hr lol. Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Yah 1ABV, I figured you would like the M403 Bridgestone off road. It works on dry, wet, mud sand and regular dirt. If you ride a lot of pavement though, the knobs will wear quicker than VRM 021 and Shinko SR241. And there lies the issue, trials tires offer all around good performance, but the knobb...

Game on! Pulled the 5403 apart to change the bearings and all the phase wires insulation was falling off. Getting stealth to re-lace into a 19" moto rim so i can get away from the puncture headache and lashed out on a UFO motor to get me going. Not a cheap exercise but **Pay to play** never been a t...
