Re: Show Us Your Homemade Battery Housing

Wow that is some real top notch set up you got there!
Are you running it at 45 amps? And what Phase amps?
And what range do you get? At what speed?

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor

But these are the bees nees http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Sabvoton-SVMC96080-3kw-Brushless-motor-controller/32371445475....

Re: BIG BLOCK alternative Motor

I know it was mentioned some pages ago, but can anyone confirm this motor runs just as well in reverse? I am contemplating running it via the disc brake side. I was wondering if there is something off the shelf for the 420 sprockets too this looks cool but for 410 http://shop.jakebike.com/9-hole-of...

Re: Mongoose Cx's!!! fun

Look at there 48v 1000w motor, sais a whapping 94% efficiency! Idk sounds like smoke and mirrors. But it is $200 before shipping. That efficiency would make up a bit for the extra losses going through the front freewheel.

Re: Mongoose Cx's!!! fun

If you plan on that, consider 3kw is probably about all most people even think about putting through bike drivetrains. So this is probably the biggest motor for the job. http://www.sickbikeparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=224 Sais 1800-3000w, so rated higher than the bht but ...

Re: Mongoose Cx's!!! fun

Totally awesome man! I'd recommend 15 or 18fet if you think you might want to get the most from bht. Also, I use infineon 18fet, and the motor is quiet enough- chain and freewheel make more noise imo. I went with #35chain. Also, simply reaming and welding a sprocket on the shaft has worked great fo...

I get it.
Thanks for being honest.
I was just thinking that it would probably be quicker locally too.

Re: BIG BLOCK alternative Motor

O cool.
I'd rather pay a fellow ebike enthusiast than some run of the mill machinist to do it for me.
Be easier anyway because you already know what I'm talking about.
Could use that bar for mounting it too.
Also, the threaded rod for my fat bike.

Man I would LOVE to have a lathe and mill!

Re: Mongoose Cx's!!! fun

Heres my mine I've been lurking at yours for a min. Okay so... What size tire is that in the rear? What KV is that motor? And the wattage of the motor? Link? What are the front and rear sprocket tooth count? Have you been happy with the zoom forks? Is that still a 8" shock in the rear? I like the b...

Re: BIG BLOCK alternative Motor

Diggler, thanks very much for the advice on the settings. I'm in Ohio, so it will be a while before I can do some more experimenting (it finally got cold here [well, probably not as cold as Minnesota]). Unfortunately, I don't have a CA. With my Lyen controller the motor runs forward nicely (ccw vie...

more video. I was up late when I made this so excuse me if I sound tired.
I figured out the next day I needed to just use 72v because that's what it was at and now I have brake.

Re: Mongoose Cx's!!! fun

a vid of the bike with them forks and shock and seat. I had a video in the day on the same rout with stock parts but the cam was pointed too far down. In the vid the spring on the rear shock was just about all the way out, since then I have put it about an inch and a half from the min. I'm just not ...

Re: Mongoose Cx's!!! fun

some pics of the bike with the forks and rear shock and seat. Forks were 125 used off craigslist air/oil. Guy said they didn't leak and seals were replaced 6 months ago but they leak. Just something I wanted to learn how to do anyway, to refurbish some forks. The rear cheepo shock was 35 I think off...
