Re: new eZip motor

Line your drilled holes in the metal case with rubber grommets. I managed to short out a small pack when the wires scraped across the unprotected drilled hole edges.

I just remembered put cells in a metal military ammo box...
Careful you don't short out the cells.

I'll loan you the tools/chargers needed this spring.

Re: Storage Charge Level

My dry cool, 58-60F, basement has proved to be a good location and temperature.

I keep batteries in a steel cabinet, but also created a "charge vault" using a 40mm Ammo Can. Gasket removed from lid and access holes lined with rubber grommets.

quality tap and die set at Harbor freight.

Oxymoron.

I buy the taps I need as I need them. Instead of sets with sizes I'll never use.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the MAC and GMAC geared hubs? They are just about the strongest available.
Outside of ES dot com "Cutler" MAC is little known.

Does he ship packs to US? It's a long thread so I didn't make it that far but it appeared that he was unable to
Yes to the USA, but only loose cells. No welded packs.

Kweld mentions their welder can create issues with a pacemaker.
"This system produces significant magnet fields, do not use it when you have a cardiac pacemaker!"
Is this a concern with the JPWelder?

Re: 18650 Cell Questions

It's hard from here to sort what happened to the center cells, but it was likely builder error. Not the product. Who replied with "get a brain"? I'm well aquainted with the princicples at Vruzend. That does NOT read like something they would have responded with. I can't imagine them making...

Re: 18650 Cell Questions

I bought 30 cells to make two no-weld packs. The cells vary now in voltage from 2.3 to 4.3 volts and are separated into approx groups by measured voltage. Two, packs were 30S 3P... I tried Vruzend route and they failed, me, and the firm was silent. So I bought a made pack and it works fine...and ha...

I'm not familiar with MAX drive settings but the throttle setting for your motor may well be in the firmware. Search for answers in threads with other MAX drive users. This thread is for a completely different motor series. BBS01, BBS02, and BBSHD

Re: Bafang bbs02 does not work with 73mm bb

I don't disagree that flat pedals can fix it, but if you want to clip in I disagree. I can definitely feel the offset when I pedal with clips. It feels almost like pedaling with my body rotated. In thinking about it, it really is mind boggling that they didn't just set this up properly at the facto...

We've seen a number of fried BBS02 motors with 52T rings. It's very easy to overheat a BBS02 if not actively shifting.

I've tried multiple different USB ports. Same result.

Try another USB to TTL.
