Re: Anderson Technical Information Thread

I melted and wore out most of the Andersons I had above 20A, both for battery and phase wire. They totally can't deal with a lithium switch current from the main battery. Now I use gold plated 60amp phase wires, and 3 euros french 2 pin 240V plugs which snap into place for the battery wires. That's...

Re: Anderson Technical Information Thread

It pays to poke around for parts. Ebay is where I find the best prices. Some items, not connectors, are fine from China. I got 20 of these for $2.89.Powerworx and acer-racing have had the best prices and consistently American made. I use them on most of my stuff since I don't run high power. Over 30...

Re: cable operated hydraulic brakes

I have a set of BB7 cable discs on my fastest bike. I dunno if there's really much difference. I found that KoolStop eBike (grey pads) and KoolStop MTB pads First ordered in Aug 2014 on the recommendation of Chalo,Kool Stop MTN Mountain Bicycle Brake Pads (Threaded, Salmon). Are nearly as good as th...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I really want this to be a successful motor, but so far I have had none of the problems with 4 BBSxx motors. Just no torque sensing. I'm about to end the pain and just go all geared hub drives with decent torque sensors for Axel systems. Nuff. Unless one really NEEDS a mid drive. I still think the T...

Re: BBSHD Firmware Upgrade

Does anyone know how to upgrade the firmware on the BBSHD controller and where to get the latest firmware? According to Luna the controllers currently being shipped from Bafang no longer have the issue with the non-progressive throttle while peddling. Luna has been gracious enough to offer to upgra...

Re: portable air compressors for tires

:D I'd just install a step down converter, wire in a DC plug to bypass the batteries, and run it off of the bike's batteries. Why bother when a 48-60V is so cheap? No reason. Didn't know you could get small cheap ones that took those voltages. I'm fine pumping by hand, but if I were to carry a compr...

Re: portable air compressors for tires

I've just come across one that takes AA batteries . More expensive but you can get those batteries most places (apart from on the trail!) but I guess rechargeables would be good, NiMH possibly better than alkaline. I'm not so sure about the AA size, possibly a bit small, so it's one of those review...

Hello, how do I know if my BBSHD controller has the 3077 MOSFETS? Also, in another article regarding replacing MOSFETS for old BBS02 (https://electricbike-blog.com/bbs02-controller-mods/) it was suggested to replace with these other types: https://www.digikey.com/products/en?x=12&y=14&lang=en&site=...

2-3 5v pads and a cheap controller. Insulate with foam. My buddy copied the plan and commute in below zero, with ZERO sag.

Re: portable air compressors for tires

I’m big on Banggood and generally pleased with their stuff. At $11.34USD I don’t expect it’ll take much of a beating but I seldom need a pump. I’m taking a flyer and going for one, last one i 5ook from the case, and cleaned up wiring and made it an even smaller package. I have never ordered from the...

In my experience no mid drive lasts long using it as a single speed.
You mean the chain drive components? Or something else?

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

That doesn't look close enough to me, at least for how I run mine, as close to touching as I'm comfortable with seems to give the best performance. I would suggest putting a shim under the sensor to get it closer, no reason it won't stay there if you use the right shim stock. Do you also have the n...

I got mine for about $17 on ebay. This looks like the same one. I love it. The two legs flip open so that the bike stands on its own. You don't have to find something to lean it against. I'm still trying to figure out a simple answer to front wheel flop though. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BV-Bicycle-B...

Re: Multiple BBS02 (a) controller failure due to wet/cold weather?

Yeah, my plan was to seal of every possible hole so that water never will get into the motor or controller. So I have also sealed of the drain holes. An added challenge here in Norway/Oslo is salt water. The roads are saltet to avoid ice in wintertime. Though some of these controllers are made to t...

if you seal those holes your controller case will become an aquariam. Keep the drain holes.
Nah, If water can't get in there nothing to drain or fill. And as mentioned BBS0xB has none.
