Re: Last night I had a compact SynSR outrunner nightmare...

I agree, 75V system voltage ( using low Rds_on 150V mosfets) is very logical choice for safety and many other reasons. Not sure about the USA, but in the Low Voltage Directive in the EU states 75VDC as the absolute allowed maximum voltage for "portable" equipment. Consumer goods with a voltage below...

Re: Last night I had a compact SynSR outrunner nightmare...

Yes, kind of a modular outrunner where you can add adapters to customize it for front or rear, 32 holes or 36 holes, DD or bolt on gearbox of choice, freewheel thread and so on. Those adapters are not shown here, but it is the part where the bearings are placed. Material of choice for the adapters ...

Re: No BMS - Do you use a fuse?

If so how do you size it? One possible choice is Littelfuse 0326015.MXP 15A, 125VDC, slow blow, ceramic 6mmx32mm. Sizing(15A): 15A=4h continuous, 20A=1h continuous, 30A=5 to 60 seconds. In reality, those 15A fuses never false-trip at 15A peak and can be used all day long, so sizing is really simple...

For 20A use, there is Sanyo NCR20700A. A version has less capacity than B version (3.1Ah~3.3Ah vs 4Ah~4.25Ah), but I_max=30A short burst. Pdf of the A version is here http://akkuplus.de/mediafiles/Datenblat ... 20700A.pdf

Report after one year: The first prototype was generally extremly reliable, controller has almost all of its bugs solved and the batteries are working as a charm. Two smaller bugs remains, it needs 5 seconds delay after switching on without the LCD screen conencted, otherwise it stalls if I'm too qu...

Re: Passion eBike 6 FET Kunteng Controller (S06S)

Your version has 22A peak current limit instead of 14A, not sure if it is sine/vector/FOC or not. It should be very obvious, as the sine controllers are very silent. S06S V1 (before 2014) has the full date inprinted (2012-09-16 for example). Difference is the positioning of the LVC SMD resistor, and...

Re: Passion eBike 6 FET Kunteng Controller (S06S)

I've updated my second post with a better picture :D . ice, I'm thinking of doing the same fet mod (and replacing caps) for 14S There is already modified 13s (48V) version of the S06S on aliexpress for about 40USD with P&P. For 14S,the modification is the same as for 75V i.e. 100V capacitors, 400V s...

This is not the S06S controller. Both versions of the S06S controller has LM317 regulator closer to the left (capacitors).

Re: What can I use as fuses between parallel 18650 cells?

Fuse or strip/fuselink, it does not matter as long as You have the correct conductive fuse area. To calculate it for Ni, see Cu fuse area values bellow and derate it accordingly. I see that your cells are of different type (mixed red and green), this is not recommended att all. Recommended main fuse...

Re: Improving bottle battery connectors.

Good connectors are very expensive. If money is no object, M23 hybrid connector can carry 5x30A at 850V DC. It can provide power (2x30A per wire), charging wire (1x30A), throttle, brake, cruise, +5V, and nitro signal, display wiring. All in one standardized connector.

That controller is NOT S06S V1 & V2, S06S V1 & V2 components are placed differetly. S06 outer dimensions are on the left side, there is probably a typo in the document as the s09 is probably to the right: http://www.szktdz.com/upload/image/20140826/20140826063154_30143.jpg S06S dimensions: less than...

Re: Help? Q100 probably, on old road bike (first build)

BMS battery is OK, just make sure not to pay via IBAN (it's asking for trouble). Use your VISA card or similar via paypal instead. Choose Q100H 201 rpm with at least 13s (48V nominal, 54.6V off the charger) battery. This will give you about 30 km/h (18mph). BMS battery sells 36V S06S (external 7A co...
