having been dusting off the controller. However now it wont even spin the motor. All calibrations run without an issue. However it sometimes will not go out of drive 1 or keep flashing the led and not power the stage up. The hex is below. version:293_ 0x0133 0xFFFF 0xFFFF 0x0503 0x03C2 0x0001 0x0001...

Re: Show off your lebowski controller
Got a lebowski Chip controlling a Honda IMA inverter Gen 2 i believe. DSC_0323r.jpg The custom PCB Spun a Lexus Rear differential motor or MGR from an RX400h Also spun a Remy motor. http://www.diyelectriccar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=163650 Then I built it into a volt inverter for more voltage. ht...

Re: Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic & setup, new v
Lebowski and Arlo1, thank you for this kind advise. I could have also realized this myself since I have been busy building a BMS with current shunt. But as I did not write the software I had no clue on wat size of ADC we are running. (weak excuse :D ) She spins real good once in mode 3, need ...

Thanks Lebowski, I will give that a try.
Need to figure out what changed to make it all of a sudden not work because I need a reliable solution. So to reset all values you enter "1" is that one of the many secrets this chip has?

Re: Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic & setup, new v
So my setup with 1K R and 10nF resistor is fine.
Will keep debugging my setup.
If all else fails I will have a play with the Rinehart PM150DX I got laying around

Re: Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic & setup, new v
I just noticed that the first schematic dictates a rough estimation for the RC filter for the current sensors, My current setup is 1k resistor and 10nf cap However im just running 4K Hz pwm so I would need to be at a 4K resistor instead of a 1K, would this make a big difference? Tomorrow I will stri...

Got something really weird happening. 4 months a go I was super happy to finally have the controller working. 7cJJQT425fo Come back to it a month or two ago, for some reason the IC was broken. Ordered some new ones and built the setup in my garage, now it does not want to spin properly. and again sh...

Re: trackbike codename NODLEHS
Cool Project. One thing missing is why are you building it and what is your budget? I did some cad puzzling with different frames I found on the internet, one of them is a duc monster frame. Way too narrow to use for alot of batteries. One thing to look into is having the motor sprocket inline with ...

Sounds good, will built a permanent setup in so I can get some real load on the controller and then I can experiment with setting up limits.

The lebowski chip is closed firmware and only magnet motors.

Re: Buick Lacrosse 2012 e-assist moto-alternator
The idea behind taking an OEM controller is taking just the expensive bits, so the powerstage. Capacitors, Igbts, drivers and current sensors. Then you hook up your own flavor of controller, currently aware of the Lebowski variant for BLDC position sensor less or with hall and the Johannes huebner h...

7cJJQT425fo She spins good. :D lebow.png What i did is top left header the pins are as follows: GND Cur A GND Cur B GND Cur C So I addded a resistor literally between direct output from sensor and ground only because it was this way on the original logic board. Reason most likely is due to needing ...

Lebowski, thank you for helping out. And also all the other guys. I was about to throw the towel in before Christmas, but it was nagging me that something basic must have been missing. I did a evening of tracing the connectors on the oem logic board. Turns out the current sensors are connected with ...

Re: Buick Lacrosse 2012 e-assist moto-alternator
i think that running it at partial load (thus partial amps) will result even higher efficiency, oops noticed you did run lower load :) . Also the efficiency is measured at the dyno brake, what is between the motor and the dyno that could result in losses? This motor would be a good match for the Joh...

Re: Assembled Hi-Power LiPo battery packs - any interest?
What kind of vehicle would you be trying to market these too? 50ah gives you roughly 20 kwh at 345V so quite low for a car conversion. Would you mind sharing some sizes and rough weights? Plus what kind of pricing would you be thinking about? These cells do look promising in terms of a good balance ...

Re: Buick Lacrosse 2012 e-assist moto-alternator
The motor can probally take more voltage or more current. If you want to find out what it can take just start raising the voltage to the limit of the controller. Why are you using such a low voltage controller? For short bursts you van easily get the motor to take more current, did you hook up cooli...

Turns out the torque is quoted at engine crank and not alternator.
Are you pushing the full current that the Curtis can produce through it?

Re: Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic & setup, new v
I connected pin 5 6 7 9 18 and 23 to ground. Will add 25 and 26. Also wrapped the inter connects to the gate drivers with alutape, and grounded these to the lebowski board. Now currently the v2.9 chip only gives me an overflow error. A chip on version 2.5 just hangs after the FOC test. Can the calcu...

looking at the schematic on page one: phase voltages are pins 5 7 8 Hall sensors are pins 6 18 23 So these shall get tied to ground, not done currently :( did not read the data sheet properly. However which pin reads the battery voltage I could not find it on the schematic. Doh, Hall pin 6 also doub...

Arlo, Could you run me through some details of your install. Since you seem to be having alot less issues with emc. Mind posting a pdf format of your schematic? Seeing that your brain board is outside the inverter with the phase wires going into the inverter, what kind of cables do you use, shielded...

Re: Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic & setup, new v
Unbelievable, there is something really haunting me with this project. Decided to go for broke, isolated 5v supply however decided tie the groundplane to the inverter casing just like the original brainboard. why test at 50v, just go for broke 220v it is. And she does run foc properly set at 8kerpm ...
