Re: Hall Sensors'b'Gone

I may be interested in testing one out. I have been following this thread, and as luck would have it I recently burned up the Kelly controller in the bike I normally daily drive. I guess I pushed it too hard in the heat. I got about 8k miles out of it, though! :D Let me know, as I need to order some...

Re: verdict on mtb/moto tyres

When you live in a city and want to ride your bike to the trails and fun spots, it is unavoidable. We all have our own styles and places where different combos make sense. That is why I keep a garage full of bikes with different setups. 8) They last surprisingly (acceptably in my case) long even wit...

Re: verdict on mtb/moto tyres

I have one bike with a magic mary in front and SR244 rear. They work quite well together. The Magic Mary wears down considerably quicker at a rate of about 3 to 1 when you ride it on the street.

That is great that they are working out so well. That is one heck of a little 'bike box' you have on your crane. Please keep us posted on how those bars hold up!

Re: Folding handlebars

I ordered a set of these, they should be here in a week and I'll post on how they work when I get out of the hospital  http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/322328700637 They are for a new bike I am building up to keep in my crane, as a dingy. I am limited to 16" max width, and hopefully these will b...

Re: EDF kiteboarding?

I have thought about this many times while sitting in the water on low wind days drifting towards somewhere I don't want to be and waiting for a good enough gust to relaunch my kite. I think the much better plan is to have a powered board so that you can generate apparent wind in the lulls and/or te...

Do the new models have a Cycle Analyst plug and/or does the app monitor and display current, Ah used, etc. now?

Which controller do you have exactly? They are all similar, but there were a lot of variations over the years.

Re: HS3580 motor capabilities

Less than 3000 watts continuously has been my experience with the 35mm crystalyte motors. If you do much stop and go or slower speeds than 20mph, then I would say you are already at the level of melting one. Get some FF, vent the case, and get a temp sensor in there and it will significantly increas...

Re: regen voltage limit on infineon controller

Almost all of them I have seen are factory setup for much lower regen voltages as you have probably found. You don't say what battery chemistry you intend to use, but they can be modified with resistors to support 80v+ regen. It has been years since I have done it, so I can't remember what exactly n...

Just fallowing up on a bad idea that could be fun and will happen someday. These were the trees inertiaproject was selling direct fit onto dirt bike forks you would just want to use forks with disc brake tabs to start and then sort out the spacing. Nice! I wish I had picked up a set of those trees ...

Re: verdict on mtb/moto tyres

I am planning to use motorcycle wheels on my next 2wd build. Parts are ordered. 80 - 85 km/h is the target. Some questions based on what I saw in this thread: Why does no one suggest 21 inch motorcycle rims? A 21 inch rims plus the tires comes out close to the diameter of a 26 in mtb wheel? That's ...

gotcha. Everyone's situation is a little different. If you take it on a ride for heavy offroad use, my recommendation would be remove the kickstand or ziptie it in place!

Re: Kickstand for EEB type bike.

If you are not momentarily propping it by the rear wheel against something or leaving it in your garage, then it should be locked via heavy cable to an object ideally strong enough to at least hold the bike up, LOL. It sounds like you are unaware how quickly a motorcycle will disappear into a van, l...

Re: Safe speeds on non-suspended, 20" front wheel, LWB recum

I use one finger on the front brake of my LWB, mid-drive. I mash the rear for all it's worth. I will outstop an upright, no problem. If that is your braking technique, then I will bite... *removes biking glove and smacks Warren across the face like it is a dead fish* I challenge you to a "Stop-Off!...
