Re: Speed record with scooter requirements?

100 MPH on a stand up scooter? Make sure you have good medical insurance. Also, seriously consider investing in an airbag equipped race suite like the one of Alpinstars Tech Air Race compatible suits (+ the actual Tech Air Race vest, of course), or Dainese Misano. Haven't thought about safety yet.....

Re: 5 k miles check up.

I contacted Chinese manufacturing (Voilamart) and they told me I don't need torque arms at all. It's so low low torque this motor. It's a cheap none geared hub motor. From their WEB site: " Voilamart is the global online retailer " They may even be a ' drop shipper ' and likely never even...

Re: Building a Trike for elderly father

EBR has a rather good review on YouTube for the Liberty Trike: https://youtu.be/2JQMGppY94U 16 inch wheels, 10-12 MPH max speed, 36 Volt 500 watt front DD hub .... They do fail to cover breaking it down or folding it up. By the way ... the current model battery ( 8 Ahr ) is sized so that it is legal...

Re: Conversion Solution for Blue Ridge Parkway (hill assist)

This requirement is both for riding weight and for the actual lifting of the bike. I have to pick it up to put it in my van to get to the Parkway. My wife's 68 lb. 750 watt bike is a killer for me at my age . I am familiar with that problem. I tried to lift my grocery getter up on a Park Bicycle Se...

I think that you may have used a quantity of abrasive disks, flap wheels, pads, etc equal to the quantity bits and pieces of frame materials :)

Were the golf carts real old or fairly new if you could tell at all? Well ... let me scratch my ... seems to me they would have had to have been purchased around the 2000 ( and likely the cheapest thing available ). I do not think that they used a converter. Define higher speeds. At 20-25 MPH i have very little perceptible wind noise (and I have big ears ... think Prince Charles).

I have never had or used disk brakes.
One reason is that I was never able to find any published standards for them.
Thus I must recuse myself from any response in that regard.

Re: Can you rec good/modest priced controller?

Price is relative like everything in life. To the rich, $300 is jean lint stuck to a penny. It comes down to what features do you want and what are you willing to spend? My guess is most of the people on this forum do not have a collection of gold baby spoons. Nothing wrong with the "Phaserunn...

Attached is the parameter page for my ebikeling geared motor kit .... maybe it will prove useful.

Anybody have any experience with a brushless controller/display combo that works well, handles 500+ watts, hopefully works on 36/48v? Perhaps you can tweak some settings yourself? Any reason you haven't looked at the Phaserunner/Cycle Analyst combo? They are about as programmable as it gets. modest...

If I can only get brakes if I remove the rack, then are there any alternatives for racks? One might try relocating the front rack mount to the seat post with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001V537I0 or https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000AO9PE8 or https://www.amazon.com//dp/B0014GI9RK Tr...

22" Wheels

The latest incarnation of RadCity's Radwagon has oddball 22" wheels. They have been the single source for both tires and tubes ( no tubes available ). Surprise: Now Natko has come out with a new model that also uses this oddball wheel size. https://www.e-bikes.com/collections/black-friday-10-of...

Re: How do you think solid state batteries will change how we use hardware?

Yes, Was talking about. Like the idea and still think about it. To make it work right it would be complicated. Switching from 72v to 36v is a big leap. 36v to 54V would be better. My former employer used to have some old Lead-acid battery powered golf carts. Not sure how they worked but they had fo...

lame 24" bmx wheels and tires What exactly is it that you find so offensive about 24 inch wheels. It a long standing common bicycle tire standard and certainly a better choice that the oddball, single source, unobtainium, 22 inch size the RadCity decided to use on their latest incarnation of t...

Well I recently installed a ebikling 500 watt front wheel. You can see my full written review here: http://www.keywild.com/X/Ebikeling_36V_500W_700C_Kit_Review.pdf As far as I can tell they use generic Chinese hubs and their specifications to subject to question and verification.
