The CA3 conversion kit from DE adds some functionality.

That is a good reference. I did not realize that there were so many differences between the two models.

Test postponed! 33degrees F and snow. I ain't going out there! Where is global warming when we really need it? otherDoc The weatherman was mistaken (I am trying to be polite) . He said is was supposed to be warmer last night. I looked at the temperature at 3 AM and it said 30 degrees. That is comin...

H'mmmmmmmmmm .... more research then. This is the link to the specs at the manufacturer's web site: http://www.fe123battery.com/english/pro.asp?b_class=12&id=95 Part Number: 32700Fe5400 That shows a max discharge rate of "2C" Unfortunately the link to the detail spec sheet for this product is broken...

Well I ordered one as well but I ordered from ebay to be delivered via slow boat from china ... I am in no hurry as I already have enough projects on the back burner (I need to get more back burners).

Re: Using the Wangdd22 1500W 30A DC Boost Converter on an ebike

I have one bike with a 36 volt system. It has a old Goldenmotor FePo4 rackmount 12 aHr battery pack and a Bafang SXWU motor . Works fine but I notice the top end drop off as the voltage drops from the 42 volt nominal full charge. I am thinking of getting one of these just to keep to nominal voltage ...

As far as I am concerned PAS is not relevant because I never install or use it.
I wonder if I could use a CA to tame the ramp up a bit better.
Have to go back and reread the manuals.

Many times the normal shark pack won't fit because the bottle cage mounts are too far back and the battery hits the seat tube. But if you can find a bike shop with the rivnut tool you can pre drill your own hole more forward, and have them put in the rivnut, or pay them to drill the hole too. I usu...

Re: Advice on my first build: DD rear hub 48V 1000W

You do realize that a smart pie is NOT a DD (direct drive) but rather a geared hub with a built in controller? Granted that it is as heavy as DD hub. You will also need a Windoze computer to program it. If you are in Europe then you might want to consider ordering direct from Golden Motor in China....

It is not the strain. Acrylic has adequate strength. The problem is the back and forth. Think of bending repeatedly bending a coat hanger in order to break it. Acrylic has the same problem though not nearly as malleable (at normal temperatures) . An ideal solution would be to capture all three corne...

Re: New em3ev batterý pack

I'm planning to fit a 3.5" aluminum channel on the bottom with clamps on the top, utilizing the existing screw holes . You might want to give that some more thought. Acrylic is not a material that stands up to fatigue. It tends to get brittle and crack. Best case is it rips out the threads. Worse c...

Re: Standard Help me build an Ebike thread

When planning on capacity I try to use diminished capacity (i.e. the battery capacity at the end of life) and my rule of thumb is 1 Ahr per mile at 20-25 MPH (but I might be a bit conservative depending on various factors .... pedaling, load, speed, etc) . One thing no one has mentioned is to break ...
