Re: Looking for battery advice
Also be aware that the range will decrease over the life of the battery. I add an extra 20-25% capacity so that I still have adequate range at "end of life". Also be aware that different battery chemistries have different life expediencies ( and cycle limits ). Examples: approximately 3 ye...

Re: XLD brainpower motor controller repair
Brainpower is a brand commonly sold on Amazon. They may be the only ones using an XLD connector for a hub motor ( more commonly found on scooters ) You could message the vendor to see if they can provide something similar. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016O0B0MQ old, long thread here .... may be of som...

Re: Please help find the elusive ebike charger
To be fair, all the failed chargers I've ever witnessed firsthand just stopped, no drama. Ditto Again. I got tired of throwing good money down the same hole. I use a Riden RD6006 variable power supply. The advantage being I can charge any type/size battery and use it for a with other electronic pro...

Re: UART protocol vs IOS
Just to make things a bit more complicated ... Even if you know the standard protocol you still need to know the available commands and responses. These tend to vary among manufacturers and even similar devices from the same manufacturer. Most often those manufacturers do not document those command ...

My controller and batteries are in a wood case (custom made). I would like to bolt a connector to a wood case. Panel Mount Mill-Spec connectors. They are commonly used in industrial applications and they are expensive. However there are all sorts on "Panel Mount" automotive connectors tha...

I can not speak from personal experience but I know that there are LiFePO4 batteries advertised as drop-in replacements for SLA batteries ... same size, shape and capacity. They weigh a bit less, have built-in BMS, use the old SLA chargers and have a much longer service life ( not to mention a much ...

Re: recharge battery by pedaling ... no chain ring or sprocket
Also...and I know this may seem a little far afield but with no chain ring, I have to believe that some sort of dynamo, magneto or gizmo exists that would allow the rider to pedal and deposit energy back into the battery. The point everyone is trying to make is although it can be done the returns a...

Your multi meter can measure 1 ohm accurately? Exactly what I was thinking. I have a special meter for reading low resistances. It is a HR-390 that I got via a slow boat via FleaBay. As far as I know it is the least expensive thing that can accurately read resistance under about 10 Ohms. I have tes...

I am considering a extended vacation in Guadeloupe (a French overseas region, an island group in the southern Caribbean Sea) next winter. I am curious to find out if there are any Forum members that live there or are familiar with those Islands.

Congratulations :) Please to post a couple of picture when you have the build completed. Your final design looks so much better than the original, and less wasted material too. :thumb: I did CAD for about 8 years, about 35-40 or so years ago. I think it was the first CAD system developed, and ran o...

"36V 7.0ah Samsung 35e Cells" (252 watt hours) At 33 pounds it is light for an ebike however you are not going to get very far with that battery especially after a couple of years have degraded the capacity. I use 149 watt hours just going to the grocery store and back. It is only about 2-...

Every time I see this thread I can not help but think of those old WW2 movies with one soldier talking on a shortwave radio while the other cranks the generator by hand.

Have you checked to see if that external air canister on the shock is actually functional? A lot of the "knock-offs" are strictly there a appearance ... there are NO air passages between the canister and the shock absorber.

Brushless motors for cycles are three phase AC. They would have to be physically synchronized. Tricycle land gear? Here is an idea, assuming it is not going to be going very fast: Make the front wheel a trailing wheeling (like on a shopping cart). Make the airplane controls a joystick (like and airp...

I did not really trust the 13mm across flats either.Audisport09 wrote: ↑Mar 02 2022 9:20amThey confirmed that QS205 is indeed around 10 x 16mm. I'm sure that QS273 will be 12 x 16mm. When you get a chance are you able to produce drawing. I promise, this is the very last time asking. Thank you ever so much.
