Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

I feel like this kit has a lot of potential. With the right after market parts to fix some small problems it could be great. My only worry is the gears. Are they easy to replace? Are they cheap? Looks like AFT is working on it...http://www.aft-ebike.com/kits--pricing.html Cool, hopefully they keep ...

Re: Specialized Rockhopper Pro Cyclone Build

http://endless-sphere.com/forums/download/file.php?id=167113 Really excellent work here. I designed something similar for myself last year but it never got off the CAD page. That sprocket must have been very difficult to manufacture. I designed my part to work with replaceable sprockets like the on...

Re: The Beast Mid Drive. In Beta Testing.

BB sizes are certainly something I will be addressing in the future. The future for now is designing a basic system that works and then worrying about how it will fit all the bikes. I can not divulge any more information about what future plans are.

Re: I hurt myself ebiking today

It works great! I am slightly concerned that the screen gets brighter when I hit the brakes. It means that the CA is not entirely happy with the hack, some voltage and current on the CA circuit board is not doing what it should. What's happening there is that when you short the throttle output sign...

as you might know most of the new and or good bikes have that kind of Bottom Bracket for the past few years now.
Easy enough to use a converter.

Re: The Beast Mid Drive Beta Giveaway. 8 Days Left to Enter

Count me in, all I do is trail ride. I guess this will force me to do vids. Only interested if this setup is as quiet as the BBS02, noise is a big issue due to the flack with die hard mountain bikers. Currently putting together a Kona Stinky with the BBS02, but can switch it out to your setup. No m...

Re: The Beast Mid Drive. Giving 3 Away to Beta Testers!!!

Lol, battery on your back? It must be 6kg for such a powerfull motor. Lets try how long you can hold it in mountains. ;))) It is not difficult at all. It is quite comfortable. It is not like I am exhausting myself from pedaling up a mountain here. There is no pedaling involved. On trails having you...

Re: The Beast Mid Drive. Giving 3 Away to Beta Testers!!!

OP...do you have any videos of your rides with your motor? Ill be posting a few short videos in the coming weeks. I only just got a GoPro myself! I was in Kelowna (mountainous and warmer part of Canada) in late February testing my prototype so I know it works great. Now I am back home in Edmonton a...

Re: The Beast Mid Drive. 3 Beta Testers Wanted!

Got to say I was thinking the same thing as Matt. Also seems like a big commitment list for the tester and then for the tester to end up with nothing 6 months down the track. Personally the privilege of using the drive for 6 months is no real compensation for all the work involved in providing R & ...

Re: The Beast Mid Drive. 3 Beta Testers Wanted!

Aft, ecospeed or Ego are not really usable for pedaling guys. Again, I can't understand why company sells road kit as off road, even without pedaling ability. Sorry, I can't continue with such non sense dialog. You could certainly use this with pedaling if you wanted to. All you would need is a lar...

Re: The Beast Mid Drive. 3 Beta Testers Wanted!

If your using the same part number, you bet it is a copy! Let the judge explain it to you. Different style / size / length, you may squeak through but it is still a sleazy knock off from the looks of it. What exactly is original? If I decide to sell this kit, the pulley will not be the same part nu...

Re: The Beast Mid Drive. 3 Beta Testers Wanted!

Belt is quiet, can run a boat load of rpm's and does not need oil! Back on topic; Even if you use your own 90T sprocket, you are still stealing by copying the belt and tooth style - type design. You can not call it your own by putting lipstick on it. Much time money and energy goes into researching...

In my defense I will also transcribe the responses from LightningRods about my design choices when I first approached him. Re: The Beast Mid Drive. 3 Beta Testers Wanted!

I noticed you ran the secondary chain on both sides of the tensioner on a couple of your pics. Have you made a boo boo? Darren The tensioner is meant to be used both ways but obviously being tensioned up is the ideal. The kit comes with a 68t secondary sprocket but can be used with 66 to 70t second...

My only real question is: Have you stabilized the crank freewheel with an...
