Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Thank you to those who have suggested ways around my motor controller programming issue; I haven't yet had a chance to go through the ones posted over the last week as doing so on my bike is more time consuming (enclosed recumbent) and I've been busy this week with work and other commitments having ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I am not sure if this will help you, but i want to relate 2 things re. the motor flash cable with 6 pin connector . pls refer to the pic. this is what the connections should be looking from the front. also: you can make your own female plug by using e.g. short pieces of tiny brass tubes that will f...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi, Using a Macbook Air 2011 When you say ‘write’ I take it you mean ‘program’ as I don’t see a ‘write’ anywhere. Did you try to read the current tab or all tabs before trying to program/write to the motor controller? I haven’t tried to program the ST Link yet as JB suggested ensuring that it could ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I’ve made another short cable but this time using the speed sensor cable end; identical problem; this is a total waste of time ☹️. As lots of people have done this successfully there’s something I’m not doing right; what can it be? I soldered connections onto the speed sensor cable so that it could...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Well my premature excitement has come to an abrupt end ☹️ Haven’t got past the second stage, I.e. flashing the TSDZ2 from the ST Link via the speed sensor...keeps saying Swim comms error. I’ve changed the wires in different pins on the speed sensor (going to TSDZ2) and no change...I read that one ha...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Thankfully I managed to figure it out - the pins connecting the wires to the LCD3 were slotted in but I thought why not press down on them and thankfully that resolved the issue! Step one sorted :D

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Seems you didn't understand, but I am trying to make the firmware flexible were all that key parameters that you mention can be adjusted by users. Do you think you will get that freedom from any manufacturer? ;-) Keep up the good work casainho :) The default TSDZ2 setup is ok, but your improvements...

GT Power 130A Watt Meter

Hi all, I purchased the GT Power 130 Watt Meter about 6 months ago; after 4 months the digits disappeared from the display but the blue display still remained lit; I checked the wiring and it looks like there are no issues. I have it installed inline between the battery and the motor. Is there a way...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

So...waaaaay back in the thread I was testing the XH18 and found it didn't like the 52v, it was glitching. Well, the other day I got in some fresh 36v xh18, and one unit came damaged (the xh18 screen hit the TSDZ2 chain ring in shipping....). It was glitching just like the xh18 did when I hooked it...

What battery connectors come on this motor? Looking at getting the 48v 500 w version and a 48v dolphin pack from Luna. They recommend their XT 90 connectors. Thoughts?
I use standard Anderson connectors for my 52V - no issues thus far. XT ones sound overkill to me, especially the '90' ones!

Exchanging 2.5 barrel jack with XLR jack on battery pack

Has anyone removed the DC barrel jack on their battery pack (dolphin/whale/shark) and fitted an XLR jack? I'm thinking of doing so as looking at the Satiator charger for it's fast charging capability. Most of the time I'll charge to 80% but for long journeys or multi day trips I can see the 7A charg...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

- (insert your ideas here) I was out for a ride today and thought that it would be nice to be able to smooth the cut off point to conform to e-assist speed limits. I.e. If it is 15.5-16mph then one could choose to reduce assistance from 15.5mph until 17mph. That would make a far more natural transi...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

The 52 volt version works just fine with a fully charged 52v battery, at least mine did. It's rated at 750 watts but the most I can pull through the controller was 670W; given the tiny 16 gauge power leads that's about the most to hope for. Time will tell regarding the Tongsheng's reliability. (I p...
