Re: Heat sinks for hub motors?

since this thread is about keeping hub motor from overheating ..
in intelligent drive motor must signal to controller that it overheats to protect itself , temp sensor is a must on all my ebikes.
touching, drilling holes in the hub ???

I would not call them gadgets, there are must for safely riding especially on streets.
but some owners call them gadgets.
I replace them once they get scratched.

my ebike DD motor drive kit uses RS 485 communication protocol
display/controller is a master , batt electronics and motor electronics are slaves.
kit is Eplus or E+ 1000W DD motor ,

Re: Adding parallel cell group into existing battery pack

you limit the current to 30A as you write.
so those jumpers are way too thick , soldering them put real thermal stress on those poor cells.

Trabant from Soviet occupied East Germany being 2-stroke engine-powered
was horrible pollutant.
that communism supposed to be so human and great allowed for poisoning people with this vehicle for years

Re: The downside of more electric bikes

here in Calgary there is BowCycle LBS which never refused to true my heavy DD motor wheel.
the thing is that I dont come for this in the season busy time like others .
and they sell a lot of ebikes , mostly Bosh and Yamaha.
on pathways I noticed more ebikes mostly mid drive Shimano, Yamaha, Bosh.

Re: battery percentage indication not right.

because it is based on voltages of cells.
real SOC uses Columb count , meaning charge going out and going into pack.
circuit for this can be complicated with dedicated chip.
Stromer ebike or Bosh ebike or Yamaha EBIKES would not use such cheap ways to measure SOC.

Re: How much power is too much power? (hub motor)

riding Townie bike at 75km/h with stock V-brakes is insane and suicidal I must say.
there is simply not enough braking power to stop this thing
at this speed you need motorcycle type of brakes.
