Re: What sort of connectors do you use on brake levers and throttles?

Auraslip, you shown non-weather proof connectors easly penetrated by water. Google wild rose brand of round connectors - they are real data connecors.https://www.google.ca/search?q=WILDROSE+weatherproof+connectors&tbm=isch&tbs=rimg:CdBbCTT-mxvOIjhbtlaVnQp8TBYX1biiF0QrH0dRNz4bjZvSpbeoaQI6YEGah9LCIhYx...

Any bicycle seat of decent quality would have markings on rails showing how much back or forward you can slide seat.

Re: Cheapest e-components for 55mph?

stopping power must be proportional to speed.
Regular bicycle brakes including disc brakes simply are not design to stop you safely from 45mph , leave alone 55mph which is crazy fast.
I echo previous poster , you better have good insurance.

Re: Inclement weather and e-bikes

my general rule for riding in winter is to ride away from cars as far away as possible, the reason?
salty mist cars trail behind which I definitely do not want .
unless they dont salt roads in your area.

so devil is in details as usual if it comes to winter riding, components wiring, connectors must be quality, no cheap.
I cannot imagine stopping in the middle of nowhere to push back shoddy connectors.

Re: What will it take to make ebikes, More mainstream ?

markz you see that is people mentality, popularity of ebikes would mean more demand for charging everywhere which for sure would result in busineses flipping breakers OFF on those outside plug ins. Now Calgary is EV ebike heaven if it comes to free charging all over the place example Home Depot , Ro...

Re: If you are building packs today, which cells to choose?

if I were building battery pack today .... the best cells are never sold to the DIY people. SAFT would not sell to you LG Chem would not sell to you KOKAM would not sell to you NEC /Nissan Leaf/ would never sell to you etc, etc. so buying modules from wrecked EV is the way to go with me. I am buildi...

mostly SE , mostly 20-30km/day in summer. Recently I went to Cochrane after years of planning and thinking about it. Calgary has patchwork of pathways , 0.5kms here 1 km there a bit of here a bit of there which is terrible for planning any long distance trip. I must have wasted 30 % of my battery Wa...

Re: Canadian Ebike builders Please help

Hi am in Alberta riding EPLUS drives installed on Biria and TForce ,
I build batteries for both of them. Both A123 20Ah 12S packs.
Now I am switching to NISSAN Leaf cells , building 2 battery packs 11S both.
After riding from Calgary downtown to Cochrane I realized how little WHours I have.

I add up to 100W-150W on the top of motor and I decide what final speed is. Everybody agree here that on t...
