Re: Vintage GT Palomar BBS02 basic build

Nice build! How many teeth is your biggest rear gear? And why not place the battery pack in the frame triangle? Thank you SLoCo. Biggest rear gear is 34T, and I'm still trying out different battery options for this bike. Right now I've got the 14S pack in a backpack and I'm liking it, but putting i...

First impressions on a hardtail mounted BBS02.... My learning curve with ebikes has been an interesting one. My first one was a 2000W DD rear hub build that quickly went up to 3.6kW and was an absolute joy to ride. All throttle, all the time. 45+ mph, tire shredding, brake pad killing, spoke popping ...

Vintage GT Palomar BBS02 basic build

So my last build, a Dyno Moto 7 cruiser that became a BBS02 powered street klunker turned out exactly the way I wanted. It is user friendly for new e-bikers, PAS only and really comfortable. My oldest daughter loved it so much, it became her bike. This of course was the perfect excuse to build yet A...

I think the questions really is... Are we that far away from humans being able to operate a safe reliable form of transportation responsibly?
Best post on this thread, and the answer is yes....

Any updates? I enjoyed reading all of your build threads :)
The venerable Trek is currently partially disassembled. Had a problem with wiring up the new 90A controller and fried a hall sensor.

Re: Evolution of a 1st ebike....

Would you be able to share what the cost is for the lipo battery setup, including the necessary chargers, etc., for me to replicate something similar? I noticed in your post further down, your comment on the impact on acceleration, and although I may not want to use lipo regularly, I'm seeing more ...

Re: Best rear tire for 26" DD hub motor

The best one I've found is the Schwalbe Marathon Plus HS 468 SmartGuard MTB Bicycle Tire. I put about 2200 miles on my last set on a DD running 3600W with ZERO flats. They're expensive ($45-$50 a tire), but worth it when you're not having to take off your rear wheel all the time. You can get it in t...

You guys should sticky Justin's take on bbshd vs bbs02: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=100461 Very enlightening! Basically, it means that the 02 is clearly the better of the two, but with subpar cooling. Put a better heatsink on it, and you'll fly... Thank you for directing m...

BBSHD vs. BBS02?

Good morning all, veteran ebiker here with a question. Is it really worth an extra $400 to go for a BBSHD over a BBS02 on a hardtail MTB that'll be used for trail riding? I have a BBS02 running at 48V on a Dyno Moto 7 Cruiser/BMX. It's great for cruising the neighborhood and bike paths. I run the st...

I haven't had anything but positive experiences with Luna, multiple orders over several years. Your post reads like a hit piece, especially given that it's the first post for that user name.

I'm all for comfort. Schwalbe Fat Franks at lower pressure for a smooth ride, BMX bars for a very upright position, and a cruiser frame with the pedals slightly forward. I think it's comfortable and cool looking. IMG_2612-2.jpg I want to be as comfortable as possible as the quietly humming BBS02 mak...

Did a little over 5 miles mostly in pedal assist 1. I LOVE this bike. Everything about it encourages yo...

Looking forward to more info on this. I switched to HK Multistars about 2 years ago and have had great luck with them. The saggy 14S pack that came with my kit from High Power Cycles sucked before AND after being sent in for repairs. I haven't tried a Luna Cycles pack, but am considering it.

Re: Dyno Moto 7 CL find

Have been making good progress on the Dyno lately, almost have it where I want it. IMG_2612-2.jpg Since last update have put on a nice Serfas brand frame bag that holds 12S/16aH worth of MultiStars. My LBS put on new cables and housings to fit the higher BMX bars. I didn't put on the throttle becaus...

Re: Dyno Moto 7 CL find

Made some progress on the Dyno. Lots of cleaning and then a full tuneup at the LBS. Threw on the TopPeak rack and bag to test fit. IMG_2598.jpg Then scooped up a BBS02 from Luna with the small 500 display. Also a BMX handlebar for style and comfort. Ordered a small Ibera bag to put the 52V Multistar...

Re: Hall/Phase wiring tester????

Thanks for the replies guys. Pretty sure I either blew a hall sensor or a mosfet while trying the different combos. I'll buy one of the testers and move forward more carefully. I guess I got in too much of a hurry trying to get it going. The idea of 7kW to the back wheel got me a little excited....

Hall/Phase wiring tester????

I'm working on hooking up a new Infineon clone 18 FET controller to a CL HS3580 motor. I am not having ANY luck trying the different wire combinations. All I get is juddering, reverse or nothing. Dyno Moto 7 CL find

I've been looking for that just right next bike for quite a while now. The guy wants $75 for what he described as a "Mountian Bik...
