Re: Adaptto protect mode

My understanding is that protect is triggered by leakages across phases or resistance changes. Assuming your motor is compatible (eg I got protect with a revolt 160 short) You may want to check your phase and hall wires to ensure no short, cracked insulation or interference etc. Suggest pay close at...

I fear the signs may be about to become more specific noting ACT Policing is part of the Australian Federal Police.

Re: Idiots guide to rewinding Revolt 120 pro

Larsb, your motor woes sound similar to my 160 short so am keen to try your encoder route. Can you advise the version of the rmc22 you are running as there are a heap of options when you go to order (eg. I assume 7 pole pairs?). Thanks heaps as I thought I had hit a brick wall and have been watching...

Re: H4080 axle replacement tips

NMH there is heaps of info on the forum on how to do this. My 2 second quick and nasty advice (no special tools required) is mark your side covers with respect of hub so you can assemble in exactly same rotation and side. They like to go back the same way else they can rub. Next remove screws from w...

Re: Cowardlyducks - Videos

We have to go back to that track as it was great. My legs were rubber by the end of it and I fear Jay may have some video of a couple of hairy bits when my ego wrote cheques I almost couldn't cash.
But anyway, in my mind the video title should read ...Cowardlyducks chasing hyena chasing 9 lives.

Re: Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Hi all, Can I ask the collective wisdom of the forum if anyone has any issues with intermitant power losses with their adaptto's? Its a little strange but my max-e (its an early model) paired with the MXUS has recently started to make a strange grinding noise accompanied with power loss at high thro...

Re: 9lives mid-drive

Cool, I'll be in the CBD and have a pretty tight schedule but can duck out late in the afternoon if you guys aren't too far from town ? I'll be there from lunch time on Friday until Tuesday afternoon. Worst case if we can't align the planets for a bush ride we could always have a brief somewhat sen...

Re: 9lives mid-drive

With Hyena in town there are no excuses for broken bikes. Got some unscheduled repair time in today (son was sick so had to leave work early) so suspension should be sorted this weekend. Ended up moving the rear mounting position a bit to experiment with suspension geometry. Doubtful I will get to f...

Re: 9lives mid-drive

Been a while so time for an update. After having no end of issues trying to get the revolt to run properly with the adaptto I ended up switching to a lyen 18 fet I had laying around. It worked much better than the adaptto which kept suffering from protection interruptions but while top end speed was...

Re: BIG BLOCK alternative Motor

Thanks for quick reply. Unlike my revolt the bht worked well with my mini-e but would recommend the mid or max. Why not mini-e? Controller is getting hot or BHT can handle more peak power? The mini-e was reaching temp limits and reducing power when having fun on 20S. Motor temp wasn't an issue so I...

It is pretty similar to geared hub so it should work, but I would like to be sure :)

Toolman, I'd be happy to lend my 160short if that helps the cause. Looks like we are on the same continent at least.

Also, what controller are you using on your joby? Is there a build thread for your bike? Loved the videos.

Re: Custom RV120 for ebike use: group order Rv120-ES edition

Hi all, At the risk of repeating comments in my build page I have been struggling to get my RV160 short to perform to its performance specs so I thought I would pen some notes here as they may be applicable for the RV120. For those struggling with adaptto controllers I would strongly recommend you n...

Re: 9lives mid-drive

Lash, how goes your travel around Oz? Dual chain works well but you have to contend with the cogging effort of the motor as it remains direct drive. Once your moving it is surprisingly easy for both the big block and revolt. Would love a freewheel which could accept a 35pitch chain but am yet to com...

Re: Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Hey, does anyone know what triggers 'PROTECT' mode? Ive found a few references to it but no definitive definition short of speculation around temp. My revolt 160 short keeps cutting out under hard acceleration (nothing over 9kw) predominately at low speed with 'PROTECT' briefly displaying. Back off ...

Re: 9lives mid-drive

Hi all, The bike has clocked up some k's with the Big Block and have been very happy with it. Only issue is that it lacks that top end punch and speed of my mxus powered phaser. So after some 16 weeks of waiting (sea freight to Australia) my Revolt 160 short finally turned up. Out of the box it scre...

Re: The BEST and FIRST Qulbix Raptor mid-drive build!

Interesting, never thought of a custom hub. Wouldn't another way be to thin out the swingarm? I.e. reduce to 135mm and use standard hub? or is the power greater than what a regular bike rear hub would happily take? I tried contacting Qulbix re getting a thinner swingarm previously, which was ignore...

Re: 9lives mid-drive

The plans of mice and men... With the deadline for my sons winter project looming and the Revolt still not having turned up I had to go to plan b. Hi all, still plugging away with the frame now finished. In the spirit of 'red goes faster' it got a coat of flame red powder coat from a local shop. Re: 9lives mid-drive

if you really want 10kW peak than a 10p pack 18650 will be quite stressed imho. you're talking 150A or 15A per cell. even the lipo will need to be decent quality to not sag a lot. 2p means 75A for one pack or 20c. i would choose the best lipo cells you can find :) Iceman, Good points but I have som...

Re: 9lives mid-drive

Looks great, love the design. How many cells are you able to fit in the battery area? It will fit 20s2p lipo with internal adaptto max-e controller or at least 18s10p 18650's with external controller. I'll start with lipo to keep with the lightweight bike look but if the revolt delivers decent powe...

Rix, re your shock could you cut off say 10mm off the top of head tube instead of modifying your shock? The head tube on mine was outside of max length for the forks and I got away with taking some length off the top with a dremmel cutting disk.
