Re: How many of you really use the wiki?

We can't make an understanding of team software development technologies a prerequisite for writing articles in our technical information repository. 'compile, deploy, push to git' aren't part of a writer's workflow. Wiki already has a high enough learning curve for an average user. I completely ov...

Re: How many of you really use the wiki?

I realize that as-designed, it would have to build a bigger index, but if the search could be altered to do a live-search of the actual post database, it would no longer have to index at all, and the search would be able to find anything at all that actually existed. I'm sure it is nowhere near as ...

Re: How many of you really use the wiki?

The one thing i don't like about a version control system like github is that someone needs to be responsible for approving push/pulls. That's a boring job i doubt anyone will be interested in. Because of this, users can't edit the document and see the result appear on the web in realtime, as with ...

Re: How many of you really use the wiki?

I wonder if we could move towards a more "open-source" board solution. Hosted externally from Endless-Sphere's main servers. Such an example would be pages implemented in Github Pages. Although that requires the community to agree on a tool like Jekyll or Hugo. However, most of us can write markdown...

Hi there, I'm currently working on a similar project at the moment so feel free to reach out for help/advice. No comments on the application yet as I'm sure it's still changing, but why MIT App Inventor? Android Studio seems to provide much better functionality granted that you're very familiar with...

Sorry for waking up a dead thread, and possibly posting in the wrong place, but... I've been inactive on the forum for a while - but I still get notes from people who are looking at posts I made some seven years ago and asking questions about them... One of the things that jumped out at me was that...

Re: Where do i get a nice controller that has all plugs for

The controller doesn't need to power your accessories, the battery does. All you need is another output from the battery which is easily possible using a splitter cable or a power pole. Then you could use DCDC converters to lower the voltage to a voltage which is suitable for your electronics.

Re: Calling all Bay Area ebike riders

I'm moving down to San Jose for around a year starting this September and I would love the opportunity to meet up with other electrically-driven  people. I'm not sure if you guys consider San Jose part of the Bay Area (perhaps South Bay), but all the same. I have two main motivations for this:...

Hey guys, ever since the migration we are using a dedicated mail server and so far, all the subscriptions come through within a few seconds (up to a minute). Re: !!!!Site Shutdown for Migration (Success)!!!

There's still an issue with the certificate. It's issues only for "endless-sphere.com". So people using the old fashioned "www.endless-sphere.com" are still presented with a certificate error. People are discussing it on ES Facebook. Yeah, the certificate is completely 100% valid for https://endles...

Technically, it was working after the migration, but broke it when we forced all traffic through HTTPS after we installed the new SSL certificate. ;) Tapatalk now knows that ES is located at a https enabled url thus resolving the i...

Hey nutspecial, I was part of the server migration and I made sure most of the attachments made it through. Re: ES Downtime Scheduled, 12:00 PST This Friday, site migra

AWS is kinda slow and expensive. Super scalable, though I don't know how important that is for ES. That said, I do use AWS, and it would be nice to read how you set it up. AWS doesn't have the best value when considering price/performance. From a sysadmin perspective, it's easy to secure, backups/r...
