Re: ULtra Compact 1800W charger + Eltek programming

Another alternate way to control the eltek:
Use raspberry pi + python + cheap CAN-USB dongle

Neo, thanks for feedback. I'm in the US too. Looks like shipping is ~50USD. How long did it take on average?

You have any means of verifying the cells are legit?

I don't understand what's meant by "twisted" hall sensors? You mean they're place in the wrong order? As in the hall phase does not match the motor phase? when i was saying twisted, i meant that the Hall wasn't mounted properly. the surface with the magnet sensitive part should face the magnets. th...

further it looks like mxus still don't get it how the middle hall sensor needs to be installed (one is twisted). a hall that is not installed correct will worsen eff and performance and it makes it impossible to fine-tune a modern sine wave controller. i know thats mostly criticism from my side, bu...

Re: TaK's Battery Build - 18650 w DIY CD Welder- Lessons Lea

Tak, nice work! And thanks for the pics and explanations. With 40-50J welds, that back calculates to 30V. Prior to your post, I would've guessed 30V welds would result in blow outs. But looks like you're having good success. Check out this for calculating/guesstimating inductance of parallel wires. ...

you are kidding right? People have been using 12v - 24v lead acid and coat hangers to spot tack weld for decades

Wow. Lol. Please show me an example of this. Last time i checked coat hangers are made of steel, which is 10x worse conductor compared to copper.

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

It took a bunch of nagging, but i finally got the NTC thermistor (temp sensor) spec from Leaf. Type = MF5A-4-60MM R25 = 100k B25/50 = 3950 I think some people reported their motor came with R25=10kΩ installed. But IDK if they actually measured it. Luke measured his, https://youtu.be/WZnYc654Nps?t=18...

Re: Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

I have a Mini-E "4kW" controller. It only can do max 56A at 45V, so this is 2.5kW. I measured current with my own ammeter to verify adaptto was reporting correct current.

Anybody else have this problem w/their "4kW" controller. It's over promising and under-delivering.

CNC parts service for ES members!

Hello, I would like to offer a cnc service for my fellow ebike enthusiasts. I have a Shopbot Desktop. It's a 3 axis mill with table size is 24 inch x 18 inch. The machine will cut aluminum ... and of course plastics.. Accuracy / repeatability is about 0.001 inch (0.025mm) Sorry but my small machine ...

I paid on June 15th. They confirmed the payment went through but have not heard anything since. This is awfully poor customer service. I would caution others to think twice about ordering an Adaptto controller.
