Forklift DC hydro-pump motor viability for EV application?

Has anybody used Forklift DC hydraulic pump motor for EV application? The one in mind is that particular motor from 'Advanced DC Motors': http://www.trupar.com/advanced-dc-motor-pump-motor-p/av140-01-4003.htm http://assets.suredone.com/1742/media-photos/63238-advanced-dc-140-01-4003-forklift-pump-mo...

Results of swapping battery terminals

Ok, so I have a theoretical (or not) question about the results of an act where one would attach the battery terminals reversed onto a LYEN 9fet controller.. The leads were connected for ~3seconds and the results: http://s29.postimg.org/6nxkpwl3n/DSC_0366.jpg http://s29.postimg.org/raqvoyt...

Re: Would you like a very small Lebowski brain board?

mini-lebowski.jpg I incorporated my own error handling / detection system using a PIC 18F1320 if you so desire, it can also be bypassed by a jumper. The construction is a combination of SMD and through hole, but I made as many components SMD as possible. The board accepts the standard 40 pin DIP pa...

Re: EU Group Buy for MXUS 3000W Hub Motor 177€ + Shipping

Soo, did the motors got sent by weight difference? Or was the whole winding thing just bs :) *Got the 1st of the packages, looks all good so far. Spoke angles look weird on the wheels and a couple of them are loose. Also, problems with paint on the motors (spots and drip on areas). But big thanks to...

Sorry if this is a dumb question but do I understand correctly that this board checks each cell voltage separately, not only groups?

Re: EU Group Buy for MXUS 3000W Hub Motor 177€ + Shipping

I know that the 3525 is 7 turn and the 3540 is 5 turn. But how they compare to these Mxus motors not. So standard is the fast 4 turn. According to teslanv there are available: 4-turn (fastest) 5-turn 6-turn 7-turn 8-turn (most torque) I would suggest to limit it for 4 turn or 7 turn motor to keep i...

Re: EU Group Buy for MXUS 3000W Hub Motor 177€ + Shipping

Merlin, you're trying to say that 4x15, 5x12, 6x10 windings have no difference other, than top speed? Highly doubt that
But there is a point to keep things simple and order one winding. So 6x10 for all it is :D

Re: EU Group Buy for MXUS 3000W Hub Motor 177€ + Shipping

Well.. the motor is plenty fast anyway and the speed can be easily increased with raising the voltage. The torque aspect tho, is entirely different story. So, I would say that if there is some possibility of higher torque winding on the motors, its would be a really good option 8) But Vampa, it's yo...

Re: EU Group Buy for MXUS 3000W Hub Motor 177€ + Shipping

Will there be any winding options or is that already locked? Read from the US buy thread that there would be potentially 3 choices. 5X12 winding would be nice imo - more torque
