Re: diy 22,000w peak 70mph stealth bomber style build
Wow that was good. To the OP, the point of this tiny little debacle is that this is not an auction house. If you really want to sell it then name your asking price. If you're just going for a "hey what do you guys think this is worth" kind of thing then the ebike general discussion forum w...

I think, as others have said, to command the asking prices you have in mind the end product would have to be... prettier?
What about theft prevention? These battery packs look WAY more appealing than the usual kind...

Re: Deal on motors/wheels
He's dropped off my radar as well. Last I heard about a month ago was that he was hoping to get things listed again soon. I assume that would be on the battery clearing house site.. maybe not. I also assume he's a busy guy, and I suspect he might be in the process of sourcing out controllers and suc...

Re: mxus xf15 gear hub motor teardown
Me again. Did you ever figure out how fast you can spin this thing? I'm thinking of mounting one in the triangle and revving the snot out of it then gearing down to drive the left side back wheel. If I could get away with reterminating in delta, that would be pretty cool. My understanding is that th...

Re: What if motor watt ratings..
Thanks dogs. I'm finding it increasingly frustrating dealing with sellers who don't know their own products... an ordeal that I feel could easily be avoided. Ex: Motor A is sold in three versions - 36v 350w, 48v 350w, and 48v 500w. After MUCH probing (almost more like a full on cavity search, really...

What if motor watt ratings..
Burb, excuse me. What if manufacturer's advertised motor wattage was representative of how much heat it could shed rather than produce? Would that make sense? Do the lower wattage motors actually overheat more easily? Less copper? That would account for the slightly lower price between a 1000w and a...

Re: Deal on motors/wheels
This has been an interesting thread to keep an eye on. Just out of curiosity, has anyone been able to confirm that this is a BPM code 10? For the record I've never seen a photo of a Bafang anything front motor that has the number 10 in brackets. Rear yes, front no. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/...

Re: hub motor stutter/judder doesn't move
Good call on folks not wanting to fess up to... incidents. Just went out there this morning to have another *closer* look. Axle spinout occurred at some point (front hub). Lock washers were in fact on backwards... *sigh*. I'll take part of the blame for not making a thorough enough examination, but ...

Re: throttle wiring question
@fetcher Good for you if you can pull that off. I haven't built anything powerful enough that can't be controlled with a steady hand (yet) but I could see that being a thing for some people. I have a question about your original mod that brings up the bottom end. I'm looking at the pros and cons of ...

Amberwolf, what you say sounds like..... something someone who fixes things for a living would say. It's been damn near a week now and I haven't heard boo from the guy by phone or by email. Not sure what that means exactly; maybe he took it somewhere expensive and doesn't want to tell me so. Aside f...

Re: hub motor stutter/judder doesn't move
Hey, thanks for asking! I'm actually trying to troubleshoot a problem for a fellow down the road who put together his own bike. Motor makes a quick ka-tunk back and forth when throttle is applied then nothing. It will do this repeatedly as many times as you like without disconnecting the controller....

Re: hub motor stutter/judder doesn't move
Mea culpa. I'll have to re-read; I thought he ended up just getting a new controller. For my own part, I must admit I find the search functions here a little cumbersome to use. The php search seems somewhat.. I'll say selective about the criteria offered, and google tends to do the opposite. But yea...

Re: New controller for old bmc v2 motor (like mac)
I believe I heard somewhere (probably on this forum) that the older BMC motors were a bit picky about which controllers they'd talk to. Something about the hall sensors running at too high a frequency for a lot of controllers. You might do well to get yourself a dual mode controller just in case.. E...

Re: Goldenmotor 500 Watt and Neugart PLE-80 gearbox
Ha! Yea I bet you're quite the poker shark too! Well it's aboot 260 Canadian pesos to have a brand new one shipped out from Ontario, and yours works out to something like 112, so even if it's only in half as good shape as a new unit (by my flawed logic) I'm still doing OK. Yea, I'll have to think ab...

Re: Unloaded vs Loaded Speed?
Thank you for the reply. It's tough talking with sales reps without getting something along the lines of "yes yes, you buy now?" and it seems they keep their engineers and techs locked in the basement or something where I can't talk to them. One thing I've learned is that "yes" o...
