Re: Dirt bike build

I'll never understand what motorcyclist like about foot brakes on ebikes, left hand dexterity > right foot I take it you do not ride motorcycles? It is a well learned habit, and there is plenty of control with foot brakes. Have you ridden electric motorcycles? Have you lowsided a motorcycle? Have y...

Super cool! Any chance you could print most of it in "vase mode" aka single perimeter, and then go for carbon lasagna? Perhaps fiber glass could be a place to experiment!

Re: 2017 Honda CR250R to Electric

I have a DXF file that I gave to the waterjet guys. The brackets still required some more parts and some machining afterwards. Hey Chris, it would be really cool if you posted the dxf and/or stls online with some instructions. Some of us have limited fabrication tools and just want to motorize the ...

Re: Amateur's Build your own charger

Wow, thank you Amateur. I didn't even know you could do this at home. By the way, I thought that such things can only be done if you have some kind of engineering education, but it turned out not. Only I have a question, where can I buy such spare parts? I recently Googled and came across only this...

Hey Flippy, in order to check the isolation of a unbranded power supply, I should apply my probes to the case and poles of the power supply (pos or neg)?

Re: Super fast charge

You of course **can** charge from a 100% Full pack to an "empty" one but then if they are the same Ah capacity, bith are now at 50%. You need to (MUST for safety) limit the current transfered when initially paralleling them. Both problems can be solved with a quality DC-DC **charger**, bu...

Re: Jumbo Shark DP-9 32650 Build

jumbo.PNG Sketched out the jumbo for fun. 1mm spacing between cells, 18mm wide. Stick to to 18 or 21 size cells, you can get 21mm size batteries that are 5ah, I think you'll have a hard time finding a reputable manufacturer of "32650" (I might be wrong tho). Also it would be stupid hard t...

The batteries can't be swapped, I guess my question is, can a battery be used as a charger. I know there are faster chargers. The question lies in using my second battery as a charger.

Hey guys, I have a 12s battery identical to the one in my bike. Would it be smart to have some sort of current limit in the bms and just plug in my bike to the external battery when I get home? The external batt would be permanently connected to my charger. How would you guys go about implementing t...

Hello, yes they are legit, I had them on the phone the other day, they are having a guy reverse engineer the meiden motors from the Mitsu outlander for integration. They have a sweet assortment of packs and motor kits. They seem to be fully registered in the UK, let us know how it goes! What control...

Re: European Dirtbike Conversions

Some places in Western Europe don't allow filling Jerrycans at gas stations. Compared to the US, less people haul shit around because of the capital and costs. Therefore I think most ride around their houses, benefiting from the silence and being able to recharge at home. Also Europe gets cheaper go...

If you're set on lifepoe4, I can recommend the electrodacus.com bms and a store in Eurhopistan called gwl.eu.
You might also be interested in a motor controller platform called vesc. With which you can setup all kinds of stuff including ,low voltage cutoff, integrated IMU, logging.

Buena suerte.

Hello Justin cool project! Can you talk about the implications of removing the sail or doing such a conversion on a motor only boat. How many kwh can you store and how many days can the boat be sailed on motor power ?

Re: 260v Dirt Bike 2021

Are you talking about two configurations with the same motor constant?

Personally, i treat all packs as if they were 400v and find it easier to stay safe then to beef things up and cater to more heat dissipation and production.
