Re: Custom Bosch / Yamaha battery

So, it seems, my problem was solved by neoprene cover for battery and charging at room temp.

Re: Yamaha ebike error reset

I am sure, they didn't disconnect any cable, it was just some key combination.
I recall, pushing "S" together with some other button / buttons. Don't know if from off state or already turned on.

Yamaha ebike error reset

Dear members, I would like to kindly ask you, if anybody can share shortcut how to reset Yamaha ebike error. I was pushing to hard my ebike and so chain jumped over a tooth, that's probably doesn't look like problem but controller recognized it as failure so immediately I was receiving Error 28 on m...

Re: Custom Bosch / Yamaha battery

Regarding speed limit, there is a cheap solution https://youtu.be/K8yF6mzg2aw I didn't try since I'm riding mostly XC and don't feel need to ride faster but for road it could be definitely first approach I would try. I looked at battery, because warranty said 1 year or 700 cycles and still over 50% ...

Re: Custom Bosch / Yamaha battery

Now I am not sure. Yamaha battery is 500g heavier and warranty cycles are 700, two times more than Bosch. There actually could be 10s5p configuration as 10 cells with 50g are 500g over. Then it could really make a sense to buff it with 3500mAh cells. But I still worrying about warranty, I would prob...

Re: Custom Bosch / Yamaha battery

Thanks silent, it's great idea to have another battery in parallel but I ride XC. I am using Economy mode and I can tell, I usually support 50W, rest coming from motor. It's pretty enough after 38t / 42t upgrade. Yeah, I think to upgrade cells with more capacitive, 3500mAh or more. I will probably d...

Re: Custom Bosch / Yamaha battery

Unfortunately you have experienced the normal marketing (lies) for ebike range specification ;) Your battery is of modest capacity and the 80Km range will be based on flat, smooth ground, low speed and very minimal assist from the motor (basically, nearly all pedalling). Upgrading to 3500mAh cells ...

Re: Custom Bosch / Yamaha battery

Thank you Nobuo, Can you please confirm my previous guesswork? Are there really 10s4p 2900mah Li ion cells? I'm using only Economy mode, so my current requirements are only up to 8 Amps. I additionally geared previous configuration with 42t rear sprocke, so 38t front and 42t rear within 29" wheels. ...

Custom Bosch / Yamaha battery

Hello, Did anybody disassemble original Yamaha battery? There are three connectors coming from battery, when fully charged 0V, 40V and 42V. Seems they are using 10s4p 2900 Li ion cells. Could be possible to replace them? Thanks. Edit: https://www.pedelecforum.de/forum/index.php?threads/yamaha-revers...

Ah, yes, you are right, motor will measure itself. So only way, without modifying bottom bracket, is installing pedal torque sensors?
Or could be there another way?
Thanks

Re: Best dual suspension bike for a bbs01/2

You would check rear right arm of bike frame if doesn't influence kit too much. Some people are using washers to keep clearance but then kit is shifted to right side and chainline is poor. I had to grind a bit from motor aluminum gearbox to don't use washers and have proper chainline. I have Lapierr...

Re: Programming the Bafang Middrive BBS01+BBS02

I changed configuration setup again to better follow my cadence on various XC terrain. Work mode parameter helps me keep power at same or higher level when accelerating, actual controller logic handles cases when cadence is same but speed decreased, uphill case. Also changed SlowStart mode and Start...

Re: Bafang BBSxx, replacement of bearings in bottom bracket

So, I disassembled left side of bottom bracket and tight up better contra nuts based on DaDo.Bzz advice and it seems, it has fixed freewheel support bearing clearance. Silicon washer could be replaced with some plastic. ID: 17mm, OD: 26mm I'm not sure how to properly tight up contra nuts if I don't ...

Re: Bafang BBSxx, replacement of bearings in bottom bracket

Hello bgt,
Can you please post link where bafang bottom bracket bearings can be ordered from Germany?
Thanks

I found, outside bearing on right side of bottom bracket has small clearance, I will probably replace it.
Bearing number is 16003RS.
I'm wondering if I will need to replace also others.

Re: Programming the Bafang Middrive BBS01+BBS02

I did another testing with different values of "Work mode" parameter and I didn't find any influence. I guess this parameter comes from hub motor where you could define relation between crank and wheel angular speed. Values seem to be in Hz x 10. Probably best to keep 0. There seems to be no possibi...
