Re: Puma CST or Banfang CST for KT controller?

Thanks guys, I decided to queue up for a Nucular 6F controller, and a Puma/Mac 8T. I will try to fix the q128c in the future and use it in another setup, thanks a lot for the suggestions. It actually surprised me this thing with the q128c, I have two q100h pulling 1000w and they keep up strong with ...

Re: Active pre-charge/inrush control

I have made the layout smaller, and put both negatives to one side and holes for 8awg. versionb.png Size: 51.8 x 23.2 mm, smaller than this with 6 fets... and heatsink.... gets complicated. In between the mosfet, there is enough gap to put a screw, since I am planning with a small plate to press the...

Re: Active pre-charge/inrush control

Calculate the heat in the wire. 100 amps at 0.17 volts would be 17 watts of heat. If it is really continuous it could get quite hot, depending on the cooling situation. thanks man, will try to squeeze an 8awg, and make those holes with pads slightly bigger. The current to the gates and Zener is min...

6mm2 = 10awg. I think it should be fine right? Length is not going to be much (it is for a rc boat). Would you use thicker cable?

drains an sources traces (60mil now), I was thinking to reinforce them with 10-12awg cable afterwards. Rest (15mil) I think are ok right? what do you think?

Re: Active pre-charge/inrush control

I am designing a PCB for 6 mosfet version, from 3b version from fetcher. Here comes the board: diagram.png What do you think? In between the mosfet, I left the perfect space for this heatsink (40x25mm version): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001107677711.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.5d4d4c4d1fNezv T...

Puma CST or Banfang CST for KT controller?

My q128c (9rpm/v) mounted in a folding bike with 20 inches wheel is trashed. It just stopped running and it is making strange mechanical noises even unplugged. I was powering it with a KT controller that I adapted for 52V/20A (14S battery). It did not last long, maybe 1000-2000km.... So I am looking...

Best 21700 downtube case?

I am looking for a downtube battery case to host my new 13s3p pack (with Samsung 40T 21700 cells). So far, Nick from Reention told me of a new model 4C-21700, but I can't find it anywhere. Also I know there is another one from Hailong, but to be honest they look a bit too plastic and shit, am I gett...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

I have quite the same question but the other way around : I have a 36/48V version, but I want to run it at 52V. The FETs and caps were changed to their 80V counterparts to accomodate higher voltage (and I am thinking about changing the LM317 regulator*), but is there any hardware modification to ma...

Re: Passion eBike 6 FET Kunteng Controller (S06S)

I've updated my second post with a better picture :D . ice, I'm thinking of doing the same fet mod (and replacing caps) for 14S There is already modified 13s (48V) version of the S06S on aliexpress for about 40USD with P&P. For 14S,the modification is the same as for 75V i.e. 100V capacitors, 4...

New project. Q128c, folding bike.

I am converting one folding bike 20 inches that I have around here for a relative. I am planning to use a <150mm motor, I think the q128c 328rpm 36V would be a good choice. I can overvolt it to 48V, or perhaps better at 52V? I aim for 40kph loaded. My other option is a Mxus XF15R 440rpm at 48volts, ...

wye/delta switch on q100h?

I am powering a q100h 260rpm (on the front) with 48v and 20amps with a Kuteng controller. Already for several years, running fine. I am achieving a top speed of around 40km/h on 700c wheels. I see that, at that speed the wattage drops down to 400-500W (from around 700-800W), due to the battery volta...

Re: Project Interceptor, oil cooled Q100H@55V, in-frame batt

Thank you both:). Yellow one is holding up well. Problems I had were faulty controller few months ago, and slight ATF oil leakage wich does not bother me. Motor is untouched, I just unscrewed one of 6 disc screws, filled with ATF and used automotive grade silicon (for automatic transmissions) to se...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW

Hmm... I thought that the motor size or the power rating is irrelevant since the power output is dependent from the max current of the controller times the battery voltage... I have read somewhere that people are driving their "250W" motors up to 1kW and above with no problems at all. So ...

Ey guys, may I ask you something I was wondering myself: I have a q100h with this controller and a simple PAS. Have you seen the luna ebike kit with the 2 speeds Xiongda motor hub? That color LCD is using the same protocol or a variant of the Kunteng controller i think. It would be awesome to have a full LCD display, instead of the LCD3. You could display a lot more information. Maybe the efforts should be s...

Have you seen guys that for instance the phaserunner has a mode to autotune the motor? You are meant to spin the motor by hand i think while connected to the computer. Is this anything useful for you? You could figure out the sequence and angles maybe?

ok, I just dont see any possible reason to blame the dc dc regulator. That net is completely independent. I am tempted to flash this, but I am waiting for a second controller to arrive from China in order to have a backup. I need this controller working. As a reason to blame it i see that, it was w...
