Yep ! These are a good choice to start with. I forgot, do you want to FWD, RWD or AWD your skates with the clutch ?

Re: AT-One electric inline skates (quick update April 2018)

If you wanna try VESC despite the stories, note that it had become a lot more user friendly now with VESC-Tool! Auto detection helps a lot to get adequate parameters for your motor. Yep, gonna have to either cut the frames or adapt a sub frame to it! I've ridden many miles with 2 wheels per skate (a...

Re: AT-One electric inline skates (quick update April 2018)

Haha careful with your boss ! Had the same happening to me before, even when you're on time with schedule it is still a problem  Well yea that's pretty much it, when your ESC is advanced enough it can emulate the freewheel (it can also keep a bit of throttle to kill only the drag). I use VESC,...

Re: AT-One electric inline skates (quick update April 2018)

Not sure if I should start my own post or hijack this one(?) Seems most inline skate discussions happen here. I am done drafting my "small-scale" 2 way clutch, Inventor is telling me it will fail at ~3Nm, which is bad... A few short calculations imply that torque needed is 7.5 ~ 15Nm. Probably more...

End turns always contributed to flux, just the flux the ends generates is on the wrong axis to be making rotational torque, and instead makes a balanced thrust axis force that net cancels.
Thank you for this tip, it means I'm not wasting my time right now trying to go hybrid!

Re: AT-One electric inline skates (quick update April 2018)

Hi new to this forum, been a long time stalker of this thread. I've also wanted to design and build my own electric inlines for a long time, I am finally determined to start. Been procrastinating by going to the army for 2 years, going to university, getting a job for 3 years as an engineer. Time t...

Re: Off-road EV idea... need lots of help

Hi, this is a nice project (and a bit complicated one if I may) ! I'm hooked into e-inlines so I got you there  Off-road with inlines or similar makes corner a bit difficult when you got your wheels in the gravel / rocks / dirt / grass. There's also question of how much weight you'll be able to...

Re: DIY soft-latch single power button - need help finishing it

Thank you for your input ! In the circuit diagram, I dont see any power for your NAND gate chip. Is that just left out of the diagram itself? Yes I left it out of the diagram for clarity but I feed a live 5V straight from the regulator to the NAND chip and ground back to the circuit. The anti-spark ...

DIY soft-latch single power button - need help finishing it

Soooo guys I'm trying to make a compact soft-latch power button(single momentary push button type). Required features are : - Circuit should always start in OFF position (auto-reset or power on reset) ; - Should work as quick press to power ON, hold 2 seconds to shut down ; - Must be compatible up t...

At 1.50$ / piece it looks pretty affordable ; is it 2.4v 3.5Ah ? What is the max discharge per cell (I see ...

Lithium camera battery question

Hi guys, I salvaged a lithium 7.2v 2-cell SN750 battery from a camcorder and planned to use it for a cheap LCD light accessory. That's a 3700mAh battery and probably low amperage. Problem is : when I check voltage, it looks like it was emptied down to almost 0V. Am I right to think this is a future ...

Re: 3.2KW / 6KW inline skates (updated June 16th 2017)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6m_iIbX0gmA i see the future in this type of motors (axial flux with permanent magnets). It is very easy to cool the coils becouse they are on each side of the rotor and not moving. Even some cryogenic cooling is possible in future. This can boost engine peak power t...

Hi! nice job man! im also developing engine for inline skates. I hope i will have working prototype assambled in next week. It is special kind of motor.. wheel is part of motor. Stator is mounted on the chassis. Setup is very light.. we will see about power and efficiency. I managed to mount powerf...

Well my own theme never was standard on screen when browsing E-S (I got it all blackened out with only white and soft blue letters to make it more comfortable to read).

I noticed a bug : when posting while already connected, I have to reconnect anyway. Apart from that I like the new look !

Re: How to isolate (posibly shorted) stator lams?

Here is what I mean along with my poor micro photography intent. :D See produced by sand granule grooves and fold over metal to neighbouring lams, ripped out chunks folded over and pressed in between lams. Should I also cut a stator apart to see how lams are pressed on the assembly cage? If any int...

Hi why not make your own based on a dirt scooter and electric bike parts? 1300$ is a steep budget which allows a quality build.

Ok thank you for all the infos ;) that's some serious torque you got there! 30km/h with climbing and good range is also big plus, not many people will go past this speed. VESC is really great, that's what I'm using too (somewhat custom version and intend to go further custom). Main advantages would ...

Also, question question for Vanarian, what are the other popular e-skate communities these days? Hi :) mainly I see Reddit and electric skateboard builders, e-sk8.fr and .de are also working fairly active and regular with many core members. I have hard time using reddit because of the format, though.

You've come to ES. You've already took a first step toward building your board ;)

Make a little effort, it is super easy nowadays to make a custom powerful and reliable board. Nothing like few years ago.

Re: DIY nickel-plating onto copper cell connections

Stupid question from stupid me :P Why not plasti-dip the whole connections with spray after battery is assembled? It solves the copper corrosion problem and adds better protection against wet. Should also be easier right? Edit : to ensure not to make a mess you can also stick filter to only spray on...

Re: VESC-controller

Your board size 160x90 mm is kind of big. Too big for an ebike IMHO. I like VESC-X size. The case is 64x64x22mm. Perfect fit with 18650 cells. This isn't for ebikes. Buy a VESC-X I did, but it would be nice to buy controller that can handle more power. VESC-X can only go up to 60A and 10S (recommen...

LG HB series no contest as far as continuous high amp and low temperature go. (under 80 degrees) 30A without problems. Highly underrated here because of low capacity. For above 90 degrees Sony VTC5A higher voltage and same discharge capacity. For bigger size, Samsung 21700-30T as said above. Super d...
