Re: Help wire my BMS

Thanks Joachim! :) One last question.. Just to see what happened, I connected the JST connector to the same BMS that I did last time, only now the right way :P And it started smoking! Could this happen because I broke it last time, or is it something funny going on?

Re: Help wire my BMS

The thing that got me confused was the figure showing B+ and then continuing with B1 and so on.. But it makes sense when Joachim lists them up like that.. Just does not correspond well with the drawing provided by the seller (in my head at least). silviasol, I have marked on the pack where each JST ...

Re: Help wire my BMS

I found out that I did it wrong the first time, I hooked it up like I'm used to with other boards like B+, B2+, B3+ and so on... So I took "+" and connected to the first positive cell  I bought a new one, and took another look at the wiring diagram. The JST connector first pin, "+", is obvious...

Re: 18650 spot welding -how to- ULTIMATE REPOSITORY

Do you guys get a full refund when the product is fake, or do you have to ship it back/partly refund?
I have some mixed experience with Ali regarding this, for me it has been much easier to get refund on eBay..

Re: Help wire my BMS

Hope it is okay if I borrow your thread instead of making a new one.. I am having some trouble with the same BMS as Blessbeast. I have connected the wires as I am used to, since there is only 7 sense wires for a 7s BMS, they only go to the positive of the cells and not the first negative. The first ...

Does anyone know what might be wrong with my 709A welder? Right under the triac there is something going on! Should I replace the triac?

Re: Broken Sunkko 709A?

Of course the seller won't help, so I opened the thing. To me it looks okay in there, but I'm no expert... I took two videos when turning on the welder. The first one does not trip the circuit breaker, but you can see some things happening under the triac. https://youtu.be/14KZwfkb5bs The second one...

Broken Sunkko 709A?

A few months ago I got my Sunkko 709A spot welder from AliExpress, and it has worked fine- until now. I have only welded a few batteries with it, and suddenly I hear some funny sounds inside the welder. The sound reminded me of something short circuiting, but it lasted a few seconds. I turned the we...

Re: What battery for a ~8KW 160V car battery? recommendation

I have a 13 kW 72V car I am changing the batteries in. I've landed on that Leaf modules would be the cheapest alternative for me. Of course 18650s would be a good too, but I guess a lot more work if you are going to connect them all together. Most likely I will be using 30 modules (which is in 2s2p ...

Thoughts on split pack

I'm building a battery that is supposed to go into separate bags on each side of the bike, but I am having some trouble deciding what to do. I was first thinking of building the 14s6p pack into two 7s6p packs, but just thinking of all the wiring made me question this idea. I'm going to use a BMS, so...

Re: E-longboard battery pack from laptop 18650 batteries

5A from a used laptop cell is probably too much. And I see the motor does not want more than 44V? Your 12s pack would be 50,4V when fully charged.
I have no experience with these motors so I dont know what the power output will be, but I guess that is up to your ESC?

Re: E-longboard battery pack from laptop 18650 batteries

Do you know how many amps you will draw at 12s? I think 4p would be to small, but with a longboard you dont have very much space of course... I did not find info on your motor, only the 149KV one, and that was max 2250 W. If you are gonna feed your motor 2 kW, you need more than 12s4p laptop cells!

Re: Random: 18650 cell motorcycle battery?

Are you still starting your KTM with the 4s pack Storx? If so, how has it been working for you? My Suzuki Burgman 400cc is only in use a few times a month, so my lead acid battery is not the healthiest one I think  I welded together a small 4s6p pack and hooked it up with some jumper cables to...

Monitoring cell voltage

What is the best way to monitor individual cell voltage for a 20s pack? I have a small project going on, where I am upgrading a small EV from lead acid batteries to Nissan Leaf batteries. It has a 13kW motor and I am having troubles deciding to go with a BMS or not, because of the cost. I guess the ...

Took my battery to the local post office the other day, nicely packed in one small box, put inside a bigger box with "over pack" label. Both boxes marked with "lithium ion batteries", nothing else. When I said what it was, the person behind the desk had to take a phone call... Of course  The gu...

Re: Lithium Batteries Shipping Rules Discussions

My practice is that those companies have absolutely no idea how to ship batteries, even if they do ship dangerous goods. Questions about battery usually spook them off. Sent from my MI 4i using Tapatalk Exactly! I called one of them and had a nice long talk, with a lot of unanswered questions, and ...
