Re: Neox is reinventing e-bikes

This thing looks like a nightmare to maintain and service, all for $4K? No thanks.

Re: What is best ebike lighting available?

For $20, you get a rechargeable 1200 lumen light with three power settings on Amazon. I use this in addition to my dyno hub light when I will be in really dark conditions or know for certain I will pedaling around at night. http://www.amazon.com/RioRand-Bicycle-HeadLight-Flashlight-Headlamp/dp/B006Q...

Re: Warning: Problems with Luna Cycle

Just an update on this: I have finally been reimbursed by Luna Cycle for my motor.

I consider the case closed.

If you are looking for a solid vendor with comparable prices, I can provide references if you PM me.

Re: Best motor type for cargo bike?

I have been using a Bafang 750W mid drive on a Yuba Mundo for about two years and it has been a positive experience. Most of the weight limitation on hub drives at the rear limit you to 200 lbs. The 14mm rear axle on a Yuba holds 400lbs, which I find more suitable for heavier loads. I have carried s...

Re: Warning: Problems with Luna Cycle

Sorry I haven't been able to post a picture. In fact, I sent Luna several pictures, including one right off the bat that showed the complete and total difference between the two controllers, including parts ID numbers, but I guess they just couldn't be bothered to deal with actually noting the very ...

Warning: Problems with Luna Cycle

I hate to have to do this, but I have to issue a warning about customer service at Luna Cycle for Bafang mid-drive motors. I bought a BBS02 from them over a month ago and PAS did not work properly (wouldn't engage until 6-9 mph and would clunk in and out of engagement) right out of the box. I had a ...

Yuba Mundo w Bafang BBSHD

Hi. Will a Bafang 68mm BBSHD just plug and play in a Yuba Mundo or will I need to shim it? I appreciate anyone with first-hand knowledge. Thank you.

Re: Bafang BBSxx - fault finding and fixes

Large bottom bracket nut...you mean the lock ring and cover? Secondly, I hope I am not being one of those annoying people, but I've noticed more of a grind coming from my 750bbs02 w about 2k miles on it. Is it typical to have to tear down to the final big gear and remove, clean and lube the bearings...

Re: Yuba Mundo BBS02/Nuvinci

Thanks for the input. I think I'd like to keep the weight rating for the rear. Two kids, a full grocery shop and I'm betting I'd be over 200. Plus, it's nice to give friends the occassional ride.

Re: Yuba Mundo BBS02/Nuvinci

This is interesting. Thanks for sharing. I have a Yuba mundo and need to make it electric. Didn't you lose the 400 lb carrying capacity at the rear wheel when you changed out the hub? I'm trying to keep that and hence my quest to determine whether to go with a mid drive like the Bafang or the 500w E...

Re: Bottom bracket the weak point on mid-drives?

Thank you for all of the responses. Much appreciated.

So, the Bafang does not have a sealed bottom bracket? Yes, than I guess it will need regular maintenance but that is good it's rebuildable.

If 500 watts not enough to haul a loaded cargo bike on flat ground with no pedaling? Anyone know?

Bottom bracket the weak point on mid-drives?

Hi. New to the forum and new to electric bikes aside from lurking. So, an avid cyclist with many bikes, I have a hip flexor pull and am moving to an electric Yuba Mundo while I recuperate. I thought I had settled on a 500w Ezee front hub as the drive as I would like to retain the carrying capacity o...
