Re: Ebike issues - strange and unseen

OK, so you get hall error again if i read my old manual for the LCD-3.. S-LCD3-User-Manual.pdf I'd get the hall tester for christmas, seriously. You can do the same measurements with a DMM for sure but it get's so much easier and you get the full picture from the all the halls at the same time, you ...

Re: Ebike issues - strange and unseen

That's not looking like hall issues. Could you post video with wheel lifted and just slowly increase throttle from zero to max? Keep phases, halls and throttle connected but If you have any other connections like PAS and brake switch then try and disconnect them before. What's battery voltage vs und...

Good effort! Liked it a lot. Next time you'll cut the work in half :D

I've been thinking about doing a 7P 18650 pack in the future, the round batteries form a completely filled circle and fits the smallest possible space so it was interesting to see your approach.

I got a more complete manual from Advpower, it explains a lot but not all, i am still asking them for the flux weakening description. Parameters description of In-wheel Motor application V1.1.pdf Parameters are set for hub motor in this manual so i will do some trials to see if i can change them to ...

Re: Ebike issues - strange and unseen

Could you post a short video of the behaviour when you throttle? Is it the same no matter what the starting position of the wheel is or is there a variation if you try a few times? i wonder if controller could be busted, hall sensors might not be the issue. Did it behave the same before you changed ...

Re: Ebike issues - strange and unseen

can you program this kit or readout hall signals? If not then i think you should get the tester. Are you sure all motor to controller phase connections are the same as before? Are you sure all hall sensor connections are the same as before? Which sensors did you use and which sensors did you replace...

Re: Ebike issues - strange and unseen

If all three halls switch ok then it might be the hall and/or phase combination is not correct anymore. Is it possible you changed the connections? measured the hall sensors and they put out 0-4.9 volts, they remain at 5Volts when the movement stops This is not normal, they have to switch states whe...

Just cut the bms's and buy a new bms for the full pack, parallell all the batteries to one string. It'll work :D

Re: NEWBIE: EBIKE BUILD ADVICE

High amp draw / c-rate lowers the life of the pack. PF cells can take 10A as the maximum current so at 11 parallell you'd get 110A out of your pack at close to 3c (10A/2.9Ah) but you'd get lower cycles out of it. It all depends on what you're after. I'd spec the pack output larger than the max contr...

If you drive with them you will kill the cells, possibly together with others and a fire 8)

If you don't use the pack then no worries.

They'll have to be replaced, sooner or later :D

Re: Rieju 50cc conversion

I'll post some footage when the new battery is built, i'm currently waiting for 300A BMS for each pack. That's 40-50kW of power available.

I'll hopefully be ready before february, will do a new enclosure in glass/carbon fibre which will take some effort to design and build.

Re: Rieju 50cc conversion

I cannot say really regarding the APT controller. It's a huge brick but if you can fit it then it surely delivers more power than the Votol. I think the Votol is enough for this motor, if you're looking for max power then the QS motor can take the APT controller power, at least in short term. I have...

Potting is better than coating for both heat dispersion and moisture protection so for many users the potted controller is an advantage.

Who hasn't had a controller die from water damage? 8)

Re: NEWBIE: EBIKE BUILD ADVICE

If you can fit the extra batteries then the resistance can be made same. Say 60v 30Ah is the goal. Thats 16s10p, 160 cells in PF cells at 2,9Ah 40mohm To get same resistance you need 16s13p pack / 208 cells in the sincpower ones at 2,6Ah 50mohm To get same capacity as PF you need 16s11p ..IF the spe...

Re: NEWBIE: EBIKE BUILD ADVICE

I think the specs do not differ wildly. I found that the pf cells internal resistance are around 40mohm, with your pack this diff would mean 2% diff in system efficiency att 72V 100A 50mohm motor phase resistance. PF cells are ~10-15% higher capacity The main difference is that the PF specs can be t...

Re: Insanity V3

can you fit a silicon rubber mat? 1-2mm thick strip towards the cells should take care of the risk and the added heat insulation would probably not be too bad.
Or some layers of glass fibre cloth and epoxy, 0.5-1mm will probably be enough

you can solve it :D

Re: Insanity V3

Chinese chargers simply pump voltage into a battery and the cells get hot and go into thermal runaway Thermal runaway, isn't it primarily caused by overvolting unbalanced cells? But it might have been exactly your point that a balancing charger or balancing BMS is always needed:D I think there are ...

Re: NEWBIE: EBIKE BUILD ADVICE

you'll be totally fine with your spec if you get quality stuff. I think QS motor 2000w mid drive motor and votol em100 controller kit will fit fine. http://www.cnqsmotor.com/en/ I am doubting the battery choice, it is cheap but internal resistance of the cells is high, 40-50% higher than the top cel...
