Re: OpenEMoto

Did you convert from 9mm QR to 12mm thru axle? I have something similar in mind for my LH dual drive but getting a TA hub has been a pain. Not quite any standard I think. I stuffed the hub with 30x10x9 cartridge bearings and used this 12.9 grade bolt as the axle: https://www.mcmaster.com/91290a562 ...

Re: OpenEMoto

I'm gonna have a look at the design and see what I can do I like what u have done with two bearings on one side shame it's the disc side but I can understand why you done it like that there's not enough meat on the hub where it's been drilled so could do with some sort of sandwich plate maybe made ...

Re: Fork Fenders DNM USD-8 upside down

Awesome job. I want to make these too, the ones DNM makes are flimsy as hell, and they want $80 after shipping for replacements? Hell no. What mm plastic did you go with from that site? And do you think my Black & Decker 1375W 1000 degree Fahrenheit heat gun do the job? Thanks! I did not purchase a...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

SInce the Sur-Ron rear tire only lasts 500 miles, what are you guys replacing it with? I don't see many posts about what everyone is using as a rear replacement tire, even though I'm sure most have put 500 miles on their sur-ron so they had to have replaced it. My front Sur-Ron tire is still very n...

Re: South America mid drive e-moto

Great Job! I'm working on similiar project and i have some questions: 1 - what motor was used to bulid it and hou it works? Is it strong enough? 2 - what size of pipes (wall thickness) was used? Hi kcr, Thanks! This thread is old and the e-moto you can see here is a very early prototype of what the...

Re: Sn0wchyld's 12kw custom frame mid drive

Hey I've just found this build thread. Any progress?
To me, the most exciting part of your project seems to be the two gears box. I wonder if it is really practical on an e-moto. I would love to have a low gear when riding on sand to not overheat in couple minutes.

Re: OpenEMoto

Barely any better than a hub motor, the swing arm weight needs to be light as possible to have fast damping reaction over bumps if the swing arm has the motor weight it will be lazy and start to bounce about. The fabrication looks sweet and it's a good effort but a little frame design knowledge wou...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

I'd need one for 20S pack, around 100A, just to be safe, because I actually don't plan to go with more than 60A from battery. Bluetooth option required, or some nice color LCD display... Re: bluetooth BMS?

Is there a smart bluetooth BMS where i can set a maximum charging limit? I don't want to charge my batteries more than let's say 80%. JBD BMS can do what you want. You need to set a maximum voltage per pack, or per cell, and the charge mosfets will cut the charge at that voltage threshold. You need...

I hear these long rants about forks and quality and durability and dream about 10 meter jumps you are doing with you bikes. I think it is time to begin posting what we are talking about. For example, here is how I twisted my DNM forks. I can re-clamp them but after any other big hit they come back t...

Re: New build, BHT mid-drive "direct", custom frame

just got a budget quad piston for the front only. the rear tire is already easy to lockup working great so far. i also got these 203mm rotors. thicker and heavier than shimano RT-66 that i replaced. 250g each. seems to be more powerful too, probably due to having more contact area i.e. less drilled...
