Re: Wireless Connection from House into Garage

After stuffing around for hours to reconfigure an older wireless router as a wireless repeater, I've caved. Cable ordered, will wire from house to garage..

Wireless Connection from House into Garage

I have a external, detached garage from our house, approximately 20 meters away. I would really like to have wireless internet in the garage on the same network etc as the house internet. We have wireless router in the house which works fine for our purposes. I can pick up our wifi within the garage...

Re: Chalo's cargo bike with BBS02

Nice. Is that frame welded or brazed?

I'd be interested to see your hitch arrangements particularly for the longer trailer. I've decided I would quite like to be able to pick up larger stuff without having to burn more dinosaurs but the hitch is continually the design flaw/weak point.

Finally assembled the Beta as a bicycle only and gave it a test ride. Pleasantly surprised about being able to ride it uphill 8)

Damn I've missed DH/Enduro geo. Now to finish off designing/assembling the battery and electrifying the beast!

Re: Bafang BBSxx - fault finding and fixes

Thats perfect and pretty much exactly what I wanted after being in an identical position to you. Interesting, pretty sure the same guys used to sell a (appearingly) knock off kingmeter screen which was cheaper than the correct replacement. Nice man, are you ordering one of these? Otherwise I may hav...

Re: Bafang BBSxx - fault finding and fixes

Leave it somewhere where it would definitely dry out even if you cannot see it for 12 hours or so. Then plug it in, see how you get on. If that not it, I would be inspect the plugs and using a multimeter to ensure continuity on each part of the loom. I never got round to trying to repair my display....

Re: Bafang BBSxx - fault finding and fixes

Water ingress is typically what kills these screens and causes intermittent faults with them.

Re: Spoke Tension Gauge and dishing with very short spokes?

I only use 14g single butted spokes, but its still pretty easy to over tension thinner spokes to be beyond the maximum tension of a alloy rim. Again, unless you have experience to tell its over tightened or some other method of knowing its over tension - its entirely possible to create a wheel well ...

Re: Spoke Tension Gauge and dishing with very short spokes?

I read various books/texts, Sheldon Brown, Roger Mussons, Jobst Brandt, Gerd Schraner.. the list goes on. Most make reference to the listening technique for identifying even spoke tension. However, I had two issues with doing this. Firstly, it does not define the correct spoke tension - it just assu...

Re: BBS01 350W - 36 or 48V ?

It will have different 'options' on the display because the BBS01 came out with different controller options, resulting in different wattages most likely driven by the necessity to be a legally compliant option in some jurisdictions. Get a controller to match your battery.. this has been covered bef...

Re: LVC Problem? with BBS02

... What I don't understand is why some are so quick to call for warranty service on a battery ... To be clear, I never said to rush off and claim on the batteries warranty. I said to be aware of what the warranty entails and whether the battery is still under warranty, in case opening it will void...

Re: Weird Controller dilemma

After what a year? finally figured out what was wrong. Was using (I think) the PAS signal with a throttle. throttle - white wire, PAS - green. This goes against the other information I found on the net... ARGH! Yes, the blue wire is ignition and is required as well (tried with and without). Anyway, ...

Re: LVC Problem? with BBS02

If you have the ability to, after running the battery to 'shut off point' check the voltage of each parallel group via the balance leads before charging. This will tell you which group is on the blink. Then charge in full, check the groups again. If it continues to be out, leave it on the charger an...

Re: $14.99 72v Sunwin Controller

Now with CA as well. Win. Suspect something is wrong with using the controller shunt - the current figure on the CA is considerably lower than that coming out (allegedly) from the bench top test power supply. hmmm. Pretty exciting now that its all working! 8)

Re: $14.99 72v Sunwin Controller

So from the CA manual I need: 1 - VBatt = 48v+ which is easy. 2 - GND = GND which is also easy. 3 - BI = Shunt (-) ==> Can I use the shunt within the controller?.. - yes. 4 - W = Shunt (+) ==> same question as above - yes. 5 - Y - Speed ==> not sure where to take this from. Dur, hall sensor. 6 - G -...

Re: Bafang BBSxx - fault finding and fixes

From what I can work out, Quiksteel is just epoxy by another name. Rather than solve the problem, you would be gluing the inner of the bearing to the shaft. Awesome if it works out, pretty terrible if its too thick and ends up in the bearing or is not strong enough and you are back to square one wit...

Re: Hey, Bafang, How About a BBSHD With Just an On Off Switc

Set controller to optimum conditions. Unplug display. Bin display, cap off display part of loom. Turn on at the battery. Ride. I did this with my BBS01 after the display had water ingress issues. Never looked back. 8) *If you look at the latest specialised bikes - none of them have displays. we were...
