Re: New build, BHT mid-drive "direct", custom frame
Well done with keeping the bolt and key/keyway. I hadn't had any issue with the quick-lazy of welding it, till I also tried quick-lazy with removing it lol. Turns out my bht is just fine, But will have to see about fixing or another >84v >18fet controller Will you upload a vid of yours in action whe...

Re: New build, BHT mid-drive "direct", custom frame
Do it! I've been running 66a @ 24s for awhile now. Previously 16 and 18s, ~100a and ~80a respectively. I try to always gear for around 35mph max speed (and am happiest with 24s -charges quick @ 14a.) Just cracked my bht open today and looks similar. Needed sprocket change which is welded, so upon cu...

36v 10ah and 48v 4ah battery packs
These are in good balanced state, very low cycles, and have been properly stored for about the past year. I cycled each of them less than about 5 times while playing with different builds and configs. I would expect them all to have a healthy lifespans. 1x Echo '58v' 4ah pack with charger from 2016 ...

Re: Chickens
I am slightly envious and now interested in similar. We had a farmette with goats and chickens as a kid. I wonder if you can feed chickens dog and cat food that is often plentiful in the pet store dumpsters? That could be cannibalism? but quirkilly I think that only applies to humans? Speaking of wh...

Re: Dumpster Delinquent
I'm amazed myself that I get to be the lucky one. There's evidence of others but we're outside of 'bum walking distance' from the city. I watched so many utube vids and that's what made me want to try it. 'Craigslist hunter' was really useful. But the honey holes I'm finding the best stuff in I've n...

Re: MOVIE NITE
If you mean the original 'Blade Runner No, I MEAN what I said. . . . But it makes sense now at least why I never saw it . . .at least in this reality lol. I also never saw the 1982 blade runner or 1998 blade. Might put them on the list, but why? The people that wrote the newest have watched the ori...

Re: MOVIE NITE
What is the reason to watch these 'prequels' and teasers trailers and reviews before the movie itself?
Imo they have potential to ruin the movie for you.
Like watching the movie in realtime with some jackass stealing your popcorn and pissing on your boots.

Re: MOVIE NITE
Someone mentioned 'Blade Runner 2049'. I don't think I ever saw the whole other one with Snipes, but I saw the first 20-30min of this one and damn I like it. Reminds me of . Well. Alot. Some maybe of Cruise/Oblivion and a little 'heavy metal'/ 'fifth element', and dept/transcendence, johanson/lucy. ...

Re: Mantra Mk II
BTW, the snow in the pics was our first snowfall. The color is called 'silver cloud' and it looks good in the snow. It was the first day I got the bike, put it together, and test drove it. As a fitting 'coincidence' imo for the replacement of my favorite and main bike I've had for over half my life ...

Re: Mantra Mk II
Thanks It might be a little bit till I tear into this. I'll probably start with a fresh dual fw hub or the urt extension. Not 100% how I want to do them yet exactly. Other than that everything else will pretty much just transfer. This new frame design is amazingly updated though. ______ 'Ribs'- I do...

Re: $680 zoned HVAC instead of $5000 central system
Wow, I'll just trust you about 'most' people/situations in some other areas like Seattle. But people HATE it here. And the maths work out to 'resistive heat' being 3 or 4 times less efficient than other forms of electric heat including simple infrared type, though. Or 'expensive' 500$ minisplits etc...

Re: $680 zoned HVAC instead of $5000 central system
just as efficient as using any kind of resistive electric heat. Which is one of the most inefficient I know. ? I guess that means you agree in the case of my conditions and most that aren't unlucky renters? Anyway, the point is you get as much of the fridge in an outside conditionable space for mea...

Re: Apollo 250 Dirt Bike Conversion
I am going to get my batteries mounted in and try a good trail ride with this thing at 18s 24ah 12t/60t and see what I think before I waste time changing the rear sprocket, but if I want more power that will realistically be the only solution for me and this build. I doubt I will get into a two sta...

Re: $680 zoned HVAC instead of $5000 central system
a fridge is helpful in winter, as the warm section helps heat the house. In the summer is where you really can save if you can exhaust that heat. Well I didn't think I'd need to get all mathy, and still don't. Try this on for reasoning though. You are already paying to heat the house. Then you are ...

Re: Apollo 250 Dirt Bike Conversion
I'm pretty sure every bht build I've seen comes to around 30 for their kV. Mine too, 30rpm per volt. Let's see, I'm running 40mph hot off charger iirc. 99-100 volts . 24" dia tire. 11/55 reduction. Yep, 3k rpm /5 should come to around 40mph for 24"x 3.14 circle And while I never measured m...
