Re: Turnigy SK3 alternatives

I'm mostly concerned about the 'windings' and 'turns' , some pages even speak about 'poles' , zjeez

Can that aliexpress motor work as a drop-in replacement on my ESC? :D

Heya,

Image
( my beatup SK3 5055 280kv )

My current SK3 is getting pretty beatup, so I went over to order a new one, only to find their stock practically dried up :(

Whats this year's go-to motor with low kv for a 6S setup? What kind of motors are you guys running?

Re: OpenSource Remote for VESC ArduBoardControl

I wrote my own arduino-nrf24 code , without a display. I'm not so happy with it and need to clean it up some, but will share. Also need to look at your code, maybe it can run on my hardware. https://nurdspace.nl/images/thumb/4/4e/Robert-NewController3.jpg/800px-Robert-NewController3.jpg Mostly looki...

Re: UniverSal Truck Mount difficulty?

Alright, bruno mailed me back.

He says the CNC-ing has a mistake, the truck clamp is 28mm on one side and 30mm on the other. Which won't fit.

New parts will have to be made, 3 weeks delay on taking my board out ;(
Asking permission to mod what i have now ..

FYI on SLA , you get less than original capacity if you discharge above ~0.1C, which i guess you are doing?

Re: Open Source Arduino transmitter/receiver for (V)ESC

Alright, just borrowed two NRF24L01's from a buddy :) Wondering if i'll go the 'lets gut a nunchuck' route, or make something from scratch. For the receiver, i will be using a 5v pro mini, 3.3v regulator for the NRF, powerboost500 of adafruit as powersource / boost convertor, and a single 18650 as p...

Re: Speedometer? Brakes?

But i agree that a electronic/mechanic brake controlled from the remote would be a LOT nicer :/ Hmmz ... I also saw some people putting those clamp style brakes from a bike, inverted from the inside of the truck, so the brakepads point outside. Could be a interesting method. And i could just 3d prin...

Re: Speedometer? Brakes?

That first brake product i listed seems like it could work well.

My front rightwheel is powered, my stance is goofy, so i might be tempted to add such a braking system to the rear right wheel.

Speedometer? Brakes?

I've been thinking about how nice it would be, to have mechanical brakes (also for some certification, i might need better brakes then the ESC can give me) Did anyone ever add that to a skateboard wheel? If so, how? Also, speedometer would be nice to have. Was thinking of trying a tachograph for det...
