Re: Mid Drive Off Road Only BBSHD or TSDZ2
The BBSHD has been great I have put about 100 miles on so far off road. Yeah its very powerful. I rarely go above 3 on the PAS level out of 9 levels unless there is a long straight section. I typically only need to blip the throttle on occasion to get over a root or rock. So I've been quite happy wi...

Re: Mid Drive Off Road Only BBSHD or TSDZ2
Happy to report 100 trouble free miles. Very happy with the EggBeater configuration capability. I can tell I'm stretching the chain a little. When I first put the gear sensor shifting was crisp and clean with out any clanking. Now after 100 miles, I'm starting to feel a little chain slop. Also since...

Re: Mid Drive Off Road Only BBSHD or TSDZ2
There she is in all here porking glory. Haven't weighed it yet but it's substantial. You can definitely feel the extra weight when trail riding and not in a good way. Much of it's nimbleness is gone. On the positive side wont have any more younglings passing me on the up hills lol. I can ride for ho...

Re: Another BBSHD Off Road Build
Completely finished bike.
So far so good. Loving the gear switching sensor. Just need to tweak the settings a bit as the throttle is a bit jumpy.

BBSHD EggRider Throttle Question
EggRider v2 BBSHD Question. Hey guys I've been really enjoying my new BBSHD kit. Now I'm just trying to dial it in. Need some help or advice. On technical climbs going slower around a root or over a big rock when lets say I'm in PAS 4 I hit the throttle to give me a little extra boost to get over th...

Re: Another BBSHD Off Road Build
I got most everything setup. For off-road this is awesome. I can not advocate strong enough how well the gear sensor is working out. The small delay in the motor cutoff in switching gears is well worth it. I wasn't used to having to stop pedaling before switching gears and all the banging and clanki...

Re: Another BBSHD Off Road Build
For those that have a BBSHD how tight do you tighten the crank arms? That's the last part I need to do is tighten down the crank arms? It looks like there just wedged in? How do you pull them off? Do you need a bearing remoal tool? Do you pull the bolt and tap them out with a mallet? I dont want to ...

Another BBSHD Off Road Build
Well guys, Thanks to all that helped contribute. Over the last several weeks I have been planning an off road only build. The key factors was selecting the right kit for of road use, and had to be sturdy for a 250lbs Clydesdale Weekend Warrior. I am 95% complete still waiting on my battery to arrive...

Re: BFANG BBSHD Best Display
Well I got the eggbeater v2. Now just waiting on my battery. Got everything ready to go. Are the settings you have in eco mode default settings or your preferences? I'm only going to use mine for trail riding and was wondering if you had any suggestions I should look to do. I'd like to tweak it so w...

Re: Mid Drive Off Road Only BBSHD or TSDZ2
I ride BBSHD offroad and tehnical trails all the time, 4000km/year. Works like a charm. Had BBS02 before and BBSHD is much better+ robust. 95% of time I ride with 1000W and PAS (50% pedal speed). Only on toughest terrains, mud, snow or wet roots I use 1600W and throtle. I tried stock Giant trance E...

Re: Best place to buy a BBHSD
Well I broke it's cherry . I got less than 1/2 mile and it broke . I did all the trouble shooting and it comes down to the controller unfortunately LUNA wont do a dam thing about it . They also shorted me 1/2 the wheel magnet for the speed sensor . WTF ? How do these Morons stay in business ? I had...

Re: Mid Drive Off Road Only BBSHD or TSDZ2
I think a BBS02 vs TSDZ2 is a more fair comparison. It just shows the enduring nature of torque sensing over PAS that the TSDZ2 continues to hold on to market share despite the introduction of the BBSHD. TongShen would CLEAN UP if they ever put something like a BBSHD with torque sensing on the mark...

Re: Mid Drive Off Road Only BBSHD or TSDZ2
I dont have experience with the bbshd, but I have tried to make cadence PAS work for technical trail riding with a cycle analyst. This is my opinion: Forget it. I tried to tweak it a lot, but theres just no way when it gets tecnical. It works great on fireroads, etc, but for the technical stuff I j...

Mid Drive Off Road Only BBSHD or TSDZ2
Ok I have a very targeted question: I'm so confused now lol. I want to know based on my use case which kit is better for me. To say the least I'm way out of shape. I want to ensure I get a good kit that's going to be reliable and last a long time. I'm 250lbs so I will be putting a fair bit of stress...

Re: Eunorau - Battery Question
"EUNORAU offers the electric bike batteries with Grade A cells to make sure everyone gets a good battery." I think the issue with EUNORAU that I found was with the 52v Hailong packs. Not sure if this has changed but the Article I read was not very old see below. Ultimately I spent a littl...

Re: How do you size the right Mid Drive?
So I went with the BBSHD and 52v 17.5 ah triangle pack. I was torn between the BBSHD and Tenshong. I started looking at the TenShong because I really like the idea of torque sensing and pedal assist. More natural feel more of a real assist. Keeps the bike lighter and more nimble but also let's it f...

Re: How do I size the proper mid-drive for off road use?
I assume there is no way to add a torque sensor to the existing BBSHD and hooked up with some custom firmware or cycle analysis or someone would have mentioned it. Also I was strongly considering the tsdz2 at 52v but ultimately I decided against it as I didn't think it would be all that durable haul...
