Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Hi guys, it is really nice to read the progress with the TSDZ2 programming. Especially the 850C support is great. My question is: Is it also working with the new APT 860C Display ? This would be really great. I think I just answered you who asked this in the other thread, but for everyone's referen...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Is anyone in the USA offering a flashing and upgrade service for riders that own displays and motors? I hate to spend the dollars to buy new and I'm not proficient. enough to do the upgrade. Lacking and Windoze OS kinda limits me. I'll do it for you no charge if you just pay shipping. Even easier j...

Re: Bafang 850C color LCD -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

Hi, Should I be posting this stuff on github? A few things: 1) I think the speed reading in MPH, still shows metric, so the speed is off... (seems like all versions) 2) when using the throttle, I keep seeing 'temp shutdown' flash at the bottom (just new version) 3) when leaving a sub menu after chan...

Re: Bafang 850C color LCD -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

I did find a small glitch just so you know, on the main screen when I'm changing what is shown in the grid of four parameters, when I'm cycling through sometimes an odd icon will show instead of odometer motor power human power etc, and sometimes then it shows a fault screen with a code. Next time I...

WOW, great work. Excellent to have option to switch main display readout, and also submenu, very nice! I can't wait until we get the new 860C - with the extra button, and extra visibility in high sunlight. I have received the new information to modify the firmware to work with it... although my know...

Re: Bafang 850C color LCD -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

I can probably also get info if you give me the numbers from the back... At the same time I could try to get more information if there is a way we can tell for sure if it is compatible with what variation. That way we can know what to ask suppliers (like to confirm serial/date on back before purchas...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Headlight circuit? I tried to wier up my 6VDC LED headlight, and it seems like the headlight circuit has a current limiter. 48v 750W+LCD3 v0.190 FW. My light draws about 1.5A @6VDC. When I connect it to the light circuit the light flashes, but will not stay lit. Does anyone know if there is a curre...

I just fitted a new controller as I thought my non responding motor was a controller issue. I tried with open source on lcd3 and stock firmware on standard monitor still no joy. Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

"Never use thermal compounds and thermal pads together." https://blog.arctic.ac/blog/2015/07/23/thermal-pads-or-thermal-paste/ Not sure if always true. Forgot to take into account typical BLDC motor efficiency (85%), so the requered power handling capacity of the heat pipe would be only around 50-6...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

There seems to be too much uncertainty with using thermal pads only since they are meant to be more or less clamped down. In this case it's hard to imagine how it could be done. The only solution I can think of is to get rid of the old black high profile external cover and machine a new housing wit...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Guys, I'm working on a short article for the cooling of the TSDZ2... I tried all sorts of things... At the end to keep it simple, let me tell you what I found to be best. Thermal Pads, GP extreme are best, and have high thermal transfer, but you can get something cheaper, just doesn't work as good. ...

Having said that I am hopeful that we may be able to program over Bluetooth from the outset so hopefully we wont need to open it at all :D That should be possible already, Geeksville developed a bootloader and firmware that should be accepted by the original SW102 but none of us have in our hands a...

Hi, Little bit of input, as petty as it may be. btw eyebyesickle, I think the "open source" aspect of this software could be a nice marketing tool for you (and even for the Chinese manufacturers you are working with). Because it can address doubts customers might have about buying from you as a "small" manufacturer. With all of the code out ther...
