Re: Another "stealth bomber" build.

It is a really impressive build for high power. You have great skills and it must be very rewarding to ride that bike on the trails after so much efforts. Good job.

If you need offroad, why not a mountain bike? Why does it have to be a scooter?

Re: Sur-Ron Light Bee USA group buy

I would be very much interested in a 60v dirt version. I am in Canada but if it saves alot on the shipping I can pick it up in the USA and transfer it myself.
It seems to be very high quality for the price they ask, I am very curious of the first real review of this bike.

Re: The 10.000W target!

Why not use the Adaptto controller and BMS, for high power that it what I would choose.

For the frame I agree with you, the more bike looking it is the better for police to go by unnoticed if you don't speed.

Re: Ideas for power tether (backpack)

I assume a true coiled power cable would be perfect, but like you I didn't find one suitable.I used 12awg speaker wire nicely routed to the front along the belt strap of my backpack, once in front it goes down loosely the saddle tube to the bottom bracket to the bbs02 controller without much problem...

Re: Tranz X’s Logi X series M25GT motor

I love to see new motors, but I find these very integrated motors to be bad for the customer. A hub motor or a bafang can be removed and easily swapped. These motors (bosch, panasonic, etc) depend heavily on the vendor to provide support. I don't see an advantage for us in this type of design. I wan...

Re: Alpine passes at low speed with Mid-drive ?

I say BBSHD with smallest chain ring 30T.
As far as battery, Dolphin case is perfect get the most capacity you can afford, and 52v is ideal.

BBSHD will make it easier because it already has gear sensor included with it, so it's easier to use for your wife.

Re: 48V 13.5 AH Sharkpack issue, battery always shows as ful

I also have a 52v battery with the bbs02. The problem is that you have an extra cell in there, instead of the 48v you got 52v. BBS02 measure the voltage from empty to full there is a variation on battery voltage wich is what you see on the meter. On a 48v battery, it is around 53v fully charged and ...

Re: Bafang PAS - hows it work?

they keep constant cadence based on the assist level you choose. Let's say you select PAS 1, it will go faster or slower depending on the gear you selected with your shifter, but cranks will turn at same speed (or try to reach that speed if you choose level 9 and are in the smallest gear, it will ta...

Re: My new fat e-bike disappoints - how can I get more power

EU laws make it very hard for you to get decent power from a vendor ebike. You'll be better off by building it yourself.
You could try to return the bike (if it's new).
If not, the problem is that the bike has a 36v battery, a easy diy motor would be a bbs-hd and it require a 48v battery.

Re: Tangent bike vs Cyclone bike

I think is it more about quality of the motor than speed. The tangent will last much longer at very high power levels. The cyclone will break, it is a question of when? Is it during your commute in traffic with a car behind you? I assume cyclone can be upgraded if something breaks but I would get th...

Re: Full suspension Kona build, need some advice!

everybody will recommend a known mid-drive , the bbs02.

I suggested the cyclone because recently lunacycle got it'S hand on and you'll have usa support if it fails.

unless you get one of these, get a 1000w direct drive hubmotor and size your controller and batteries accordingly (it can be on 36v).

Re: Full suspension Kona build, need some advice!

you seem to be confident with ebikes but I don't understand why bother with the very cheap brushed mid-drive kit. If you want a cheap mid-drive get the popular cyclone 3000w(350$) and use lower amperage to maximise range. At low power it will be more reliable than what we usually hear from this mid-...

Re: Longest commute

Cowardlyduck is right about the drag, it will be very important at speed and will greatly impact battery usage. You should check out fairings or recumbents. Either way, there are many battery vendors (lunacycles) that are able to build a suitable battery for your needs. As for the motor, almost any ...

Re: My BBSHD throttle is an on/off switch

It's the same for the bbs02, we have some kind of modulation but you should try it out at higher speed and you will see the diference. Once it kick in try to set it back a little bit and it will slow, just be very careful because it is very sensitive.

use bbs02 without LCD

Hello, I have the BBS02 and I only use throttle.(never use PAS, no e-brakes because I have hydraulics) It is working in level 0 because Paul sells them this way. I would like to remove but LCD, and only use a on/off or even better always on (because my battery has a switch). Has anybody did it yet? ...

I have an idea, why don't you add a second motor, like the bbs02.

Combined with the hubmotor, it will start very fast and the hub will continue with high speed.

Re: bbs02 steep hill best practices?

The PAS settings are only to get to a certain speed. The speed is dependent of the gear you are in, you can see the PAS levels as RPMs. The PAS will help you until it reached it's set RPM for PAS assist level. As an example, if you are on PAS 1 and the bike is in third gear. (speeds depend on your g...
