BMS for A2B Metro Frame Battery

The Frame Battery BMS gave up on me. Does anyone have a working frame battery BMS from an old A2B Metro or perhaps a complete spent frame battery?
Please let me know.

Thanks

Re: A2B Metro restoration / modification - Fechter's first Ebike

Nice work Fechter. I still love my 2012 Metro. I got an empty auxiliary battery case and built my own 11S8P battery pack into it a few years ago. My potted frame controller doesn't like more than 50V, so 11S is the max I can feed it. It's working fairly well. Eventually the original frame battery cr...

Re: A2B Metro battery

I am rebuilding my A2B Metro frame battery with LG MJ1 and reconfiguring a 48V 20Ah pack to become a 36V 23Ah rear battery pack. It's fairly cumbersome to match the shape of the battery assembly to the A2B case, but it's doable and you can fit about 130 cells that way.

Re: Bang for buck 14-16s bms?

you can use the 16S BMS for 14S pack and if you decide to finally go to 16S then the extra channels will be available. Sorry if this is a silly question: So if I want to eventually go from 10S LiPo to 13S I can get a 13S BMS now and save myself the cost for a new BMS? How doI do wire the spare chan...

Re: A2B Metro Gen2 Hybrid pics

Yes, you can get to the cable coming down the frame tube. But that doesn't help much, because the controller is programmed to not allow more than 50V and it also limits the max speed to 21mph.
So you need to figure out how to use the programming bus.

Re: Over volting an Ultramotor A2B Metro hub controller

Did some more voltage testing on the bike by charging my 26650 cells. Got to 49.5V (12S) and throttle was working. However, the controller also seems to limit the maximum speed to 21mph. I reached 21 mph with about 3/4 throttle and then no more speed increase to full throttle. Voltage dropped to 48....

Re: Over volting an Ultramotor A2B Metro hub controller

Thank you Fechter. Speedometer function can be taken over by a CA, no big deal. Gutting this controller would be a pity because the FETs are 100V, the relays go up to 75V, so with some, probably software, mods one could run with 72V and not have any externally visible modifications. I am hoping my d...

Re: Over volting an Ultramotor A2B Metro hub controller

I did some testing today with a bunch of 26650 flash light cells. Up do 47V input throttle works fine. Add another cell and get 50.8V throttle goes non-responsive. Looks to me like the controller has been programmed to shut itself off. Any ideas on how to get around this without gutting and Lyen con...

Re: Over volting an Ultramotor A2B Metro hub controller

Yes, the relay clicks when I switch to B, I even exchanged A and B in the hellhole, same result though. Frame battery works fine, auxiliary makes only the speedometer happy. I forgot to mention that my Metro is a Gen 2 with the controller potted in the removable bottom shell of the frame. I left the...

A2B Metro Gen2 Hybrid pics

Since the connection of a 48V battery pack to the rear connector on the bike gave me issues (speedo works fine, shows battery fully charged, but throttle not working), I decided to take a look at the bottom of my bike. Contrary to the Gen1, the bottom is solid aluminium, held by 4 screws to the fram...

Re: 48v for 2011 A2B Metro

Hi Omohm,
I have the same issue with my A2B Metro Gen 2. Connected a 48V pack via the rear pack connector. LCD lights up but throttle shows no response.
Were you able to resolve your issue?
If so, could you please share the solution?

Thanks

Re: A2B METRO GEN 2 SECOND BATTERY

I have a similar problem. I got a 48V external battery for my Gen2 Metro. I hooked it up via the port for the rear battery. When I turn the switch to B, the dashboard shows a fully charged battery, but when I engage the throttle nothing happens. When I switch back to A, everything works fine. Any id...

Re: Over volting an Ultramotor A2B Metro hub controller

Hello, I got an A2B Metro about 2 years ago, mainly as a vehicle to do in-town grocery shopping and the occasional trip to Costco. Everything was fine and dandy until about 2 months ago, when I noticed that the frame battery range had fallen from 18 miles to about 8-9 miles with pedaling. After read...
