Re: 48v 11ah nos boxes of 12 cells

Anyone come across an affordable bms option for these?

Don’t mean to sidetrack the thread but that info posted here would really up the usefulness of these for the average user. i.e. I’d like to forward this to a couple people but Don’t want to have to find them a bms or take care of thier packs.

To part out or sell whole?

In the opinion of the forum, when moving on and disposing of ebikes or parts, can you generally recover more value by parting out and selling the components or selling finished bikes? I know this is very broad, but I've found unless im building a bike specifically for someone, it seems hard to recov...

I have 100 Lg Hg2 bare cells purchased from Luna Cycle a year ago for sale. They are all unused, in perfect condition. All are at storage voltage. What fridge do you have? Reason I ask is does it have a low voltage cutoff built in, and is it adjustable?
Anything else you want to run of the battery as well?

Re: Taga is a multifunctional urban vehicle

Totally awesome. Also incredibly scary with soccer moms driving them on public paths. Like a chariot of death. As opposed to an SUV? On the "public paths" that everybody uses every day? No power steering on a bike. Im sure you've ridden a front style cargo trike like that. Think about a 100lb girl ...

Re: Break in for 18650B Panasonic

Up to you. If you want to cycle brand new batteries a few times to validate them, go for it. I assure you, no major pack manufacturer is doing this, as the factory QC is quite solid. Assuming, of course that nothing happened to them in transit, or they haven't sat on a shelf somewhere for a long ti...

Re: addition of lights and usb charger

So I got a listing kit off from RClighthouse for $30 off of amazon. It literally goes right in between the wires from your receiver to your ESC and uses that power to power the LEDS. Very bright too and with working brake lights! I will hold off on the USB charger until I get the other kinks worked...

Re: Hobby King Turnigy wires

Sure, but the turnigy branded wires have a very high number of very thin strands. Better than any I've encountered so far... I kind of doubt the elections can tell the difference. In about 17 years of messing with e-bikes, I've never had any issues at all with stranded wire of the appropriate gauge...

Ebrakes are typically normally open. You can buy hall sensors (or reeds) on ebay to do what you want. You just glue a magnet nearby.

Re: BMS questions for 1000 watt 25-35 ah battery build

I understand heat from soldering i was talking about this comment "And lastly lappy cells are only good for 1c discharge. You are going to be over that with that motor and those cells. So possibly cell damage and even fire while riding. "..... All 18650 cells have a maximum discharge rating. The ma...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

I just skimmed read 39 pages of info on this kit and am working on installing mine on an old Trek 8000 Hardtail. I have one boneheaded question that makes me wonder if I am missing something - is there a reason why everyone is trying to stiffen the bottom bracket mount instead of just installing a ...

Re: BMS questions for 1000 watt 25-35 ah battery build

P- goes to bike negative C- goes to charger negative B- goes to battery negative Bike and charger positive do not go through the bms. They are attached directly to the battery positive. Don't solder the cells together. Lappy batts already have high internal resistance. Soldering will make it much wo...
