Re: Abus develops e-bike lock with Bosch
My 2015 IZIP E3 Dash is also keyed by ABUS, so I can go to any bike shop that's an ABUS lock dealer and special order an ABUS lock that's keyed for the same key as my ebike battery, which is nice. I'm glad Bosch has jumped on the bandwagon, too. It's nice to carry less keys!

Re: TPP, future trade war with China, how to get motors?
TPP will be good for ebikes because Singapore and Malaysia are in it, and there are a lot of bicycle components that come out of there. Lots of my Shimano parts are stamped with a 'Made In Singapore' or 'Made In Malaysia'. Having Vietnam in the trade bloc will be really helpful, too, since Vietnam h...

Re: Laneri Falcon, fully faired ebike
Any idea if this is powered by a Bafang BBSXX motor? Interesting design, but I must say, it is quite hideous. Also, if they were going to go full aero, why not install wheel fairings for the top half of the wheels, too, and eliminate all that drag from the forward-moving spokes? My guess is that rid...

Re: e-RAD’s Turn-Key Solution to Mid-Drive Mountain Bikes -
Beautiful bike, IdleUp! Don't let the haters on this thread throw you off. They're either jealous of your build or they're acting out due to their own inadequacies –– their rudeness has nothing to do with your post. I just built up something very similar using a 2015 Giant Anthem 3 that has the same...

Re: Calling all Bay Area ebike riders
Equally awesome would be a shared garage / lab space with shared tools (e.g tab welder!) +1 on the spot/tab welder. I took apart a power bank (just 4 18650 cells and a few USB ports for charging phones) last night and balanced the cells and had to jury-rig the nickel tabs back on to the battery ter...

Re: Golden Gate Open Class E-Bike race!
It ended up being a pretty fun event. Joe from Motostrano brought an unrestricted Bosch-powered Easy Motion that hit 32-35MPH, and I brought my new BBSHD build that tops out around 37MPH. Joe built a moderate lead on the first lap, I went into the highest PAS mode and passed him, and then I just sor...

2016 Easy Motion models leaked
There are new photos floating around of the 2016 BH Easy Motion line. Apparently their new German-designed mid-drive (from a company called Brose) puts out 80Nm of torque, and their batteries went from 36V->48V and now offer 500Wh, and their rear hub motors now put out 500W instead of the previous 3...
